So how will this takeover work?

Is there anywhere where this is stated in the ESPP policy. Please post.

I am guessing this situation will be a great lesson for you on the real world where everything is not handed to you on a silver platter. Welcome to adulthood. LOOK IT UP!! You signed the contract where it details all the rules of the plan. Would you like me to post some job opportunities for you as well? Holy cow!!

I agree...people working here are getting fat and lazy with no clue of dealing with adversity

Hey troll, no one asked what you're guessing. It's a legit question about a employee benefit that plenty of people would be interested in knowing given the situation. Get off your high horse and quit $hitting on people for asking good questions. Stop inviting people to adulthood when it sounds like you haven't made it yourself. Op, sorry dont have an answer. We'll have to wait and see.

Listen grasshopper, although this may be a good question, why the heck would you expect an accurate answer on cafefreakinpharma? This can be easily answered by looking at the form that YOU signed and sent to HR. It's clear that you are not an adult that has had to survive in the real world or else you would have taken the initiative to look it up. It's your $$$, it's just as easy to look it up as it is to ask the question on CP!!

The freak out adulthood poster is a moron. I have read the policy in iris (section 14 of ESPP policy) and it looks like there might be some different ways it could shake out. From my take since I am not a contract lawyer (my disclaimer to the freak out moron and other lame responder) they can honor our options that we have put $ aside for, or just refund us the $. Anyone else have any real input how this works. Us adults have our $ on the table so I'm sure others are interested.

I agree with your statement about this deal taking 6 mos to close but you are wrong about shire severance. It's a 30 day warn plus 2 weeks per year if you are senior or below sales rep and 3 weeks per year for executive and above. Another thing to consider is that if AbbVie pays a lot more than they planned they will be in more of a rush to close this deal.

Hope you have a lot of bad debt, to make your deal even better. Congrats to you. You are now part of the machine.

Abbvie will keep shore and fire there own. This is what happened when we bought solvay. I'm sure shore negotiated a large percent of people not to be affected for some period.

3 weeks for every year actually is correct. Shire changed the severance payout over a year ago. You can also opt to accelerate the warn period if you're anxious to move on once you receive notification of being laid off. I'm glad to have been laid off before the takeover. I can't imagine the day to day business operations have improved and things were horrific when I left several months ago.
