Seasonal Contract Position

I was told right after the interview with DM that I would not be moving forward so at least it didn’t drag out. He was fumbling to find stupid STAR questions during interview. I could tell he was just going through the motions. Agree with the above poster that they are overlooking candidates that would be a better fit with seasonal work. Nothing against former Merck candidates but I would bet they are just waiting for the next best opportunity and they will be history.

a few thoughts..
So if the DM I had a FaceTime with last week was a Merk/syneous mgr I have no chance?
I think this job has created a lot of buzz because it’s a good new product with a decent company.
Totally new concept of the seasonal rep is interesting...work 6 to 7 months then unemployment the rest, not a bad gig for a lot of people...
Sad they are giving preference to prior Merck reps who may only be looking for temp.. many people, me included, have impressive resumes and are happy to have a seasonal job with a good product.
That’s why this thread has so many replies

I was told we would hear last Friday by recruiter if moving to f2f but manager had not even finished Skype interviews. Contacted the recruiter to ask the status and of course no reply. It is just rude and unprofessional.

Reps and managers coming from the Merck contract will wished they have not come to ASSFIELD.

Time to board the train wreck.

Move on people, if Ashfield is hiring the MRK reps they already know and are planning that 98% of them are looking for full time w/ benefits. This is just a bridge for the reps and Ashfield probably already realizes that going in. So despite what Ashfield was trying to be transparent about they were not. Just another Pharma bait and switch scam. Let Ashfield recruiters run a continuous hiring loop w/ this position it’s more money in the recruiters pockets if it’s a revolving door.

yup interview from hell last week!

Manager just went through the motions made me wait in a board room for 3 hours then Mike the national sales manager tells me he doesn't need anything else from me. I knew right there I didn't get the job! But no email no reply nothing!

Did I mention I was an ashfield employee?!!!

Same situation for me. Was told by recruiter that we would hear from him last Friday on who would be moving to F2F interviews. Still nothing. I’m assuming I’m not being selected.

Merck reps & mgrs are probably getting these positions due to recent cancellation of a contract. Good for them , but bad for all the qualified reps who’ve already made it through first round & now won’t be considered. That’s the way this goes in the contract business. Best luck to all, stay positive.

Don't know about a merck/ashfield contract but the manager who covers part of NY was on a merck/publicis contract. She's hiring her old reps. The mgr in PA & NJ is hiring his old reps from the sunovion/publicis contract. Should I go on?
