Seasonal Contract Position

The positions are all filled and training started last week.
Stop writing inaccurate things. People come on here for information. I was contacted by email for a f2f in Newark NJ too. I was interviewed a week ago, but I know people who were interviewed this week so not sure where they are going for their f2f. I came on here to see what people are being offered.

NO F2F will be conducted until after this weekend. No one has been contacted as of yet for F2F, so those spouting off that they have been contacted or have already had a F2F are incorrect and should be banned from this forum. You make everyone nervous by your insensitive comments and continued rumor spread.

Thank you immensely for your post! I agree false commentary is not productive- Surely those posting nonsense have far better things to do with their time... though I doubt it!!

Had f2f yesterday. Was cut after interviewing with district manager. I was surrounded by Merck refugees including the DM that did the interview. It was pretty obvious that Merck reps that just got laid off will have first dibs....What a waste of time.... Such BS!

F2F did kick off last week and will continue for the next 2 weeks. The roles are terrific roles and working for a great client in Genentech. Pay varies based on experience but is great for the amount of training and travel required. Monthly car allowance is $600 and you also receive $.21/mile. There's a bonus at the end of the contract too, which can be lucrative. It's a 3-year seasonal contract, so it's helpful to know that if you do well in year 1, you have 2 more years of employment. And, Ashfield is great about putting people right into new contracts when they're free. So, the opportunity to be employed full-time and year-round is attractive.

What do you mean cut after the interview? Do you stay if they are interested?

I think it’s a great opportunity!

In response to comment #231. No I did not cut myself ....the district manager chose not to move me forward in the process. Like I said he is former Merck and literally just got hired a few weeks ago and just about every candidate in there was former Merck. I was told by one of the candidates that they just cut over 50% of their salesforce. I know how it works.....these managers are carrying their teams with them if possible.

The post above is correct. Mgrs are bringing reps they had on other contracts onto this contract. I know because I am one of the reps getting this job. I am interviewing without any competition. I feel bad especially for those reps who worked for Ashfield and are not moving forward. This is common in contracts though. Also the east coast reps are interviewing Sept 4 in Newark NJ at the Marriott.

I was cut too, the district manager is a former Merck Manager in my area as well. He was hired on a few weeks ago, brought out of retirement apparently. What a waste of time.

This is why I don’t agree with Affirmative Action. Should have to earn the job and not have it handed to you.

Gee thanks Biff from Ashfield..... what a joke. Here is the reality:

This is a seasonal job. Pays a maximum of 42k. After taxes and insurance you might make 29k. You will NOT have any type of health insurance for 5-6 months! You will beat the shit out of your own personal car racking up miles, tire wear, and maintenance. If, I say if your territory does well, you Might be retained the second year. No guarantees.

Agree w/ all of this. Ashfields top question is "are you ok w/ 6 month contract for 3 years". So why would they hire anyone that wants a full time job the other 6 or a person is trying to jump on a full time contract. This defeats the entire hiring process. This whole process has been Ashfield trying to find a unicorn and have probably over thought many great candidates that actually would have just been happy w/ the 6 months and the numbers.
