Salix?

I made it to the 3rd interview and did not get the job (found out this week). A lot of former quintiles reps were interviewed at the last minute due to the Sanofi contract ending early/layoffs. From my understanding those candidates may have been given preference. Quintiles likes to take care of current employees who have been successful, especially when contracts end early. I am not former quintiles but my friend is currently on a contract with them and gave me insight.

There is absolutely no truth to that rumor. The only reason that anyone that was an a Sanofi contract was extended an offer was because the Salix managers thought that they were a better candidate. It really didn't matter if you were Quintiles, sanofi, B2B, .... it matters if they thought you were the best fit.
If you haven't heard anything yet - you likely were passed on.

Things happen move on, there is another position for you. Keep in touch with the recruiter and you never know something else might work out. If I was one of the former Quintiles reps I would hope they would help me. I do believe they do help their former employees as they should. This is a contract also for someone with little or no experience and maybe Salix wants it that way. If you do a good job maybe they will roll the reps over. Who knows so many what ifs..If you have not received a call or email bad business but you most likely didn't get the position if it has been two weeks.

Just curious did you have over 5 years of experience? If so you did nothing wrong it was the number of years. If you were non Quintiles and had over a certain number you are not getting this job on this contract..I can almost bet you..said this from the beginning..

Hello, welcome to the pharma industry. You are right except that is the case with every pharma company out there. Pfizer especially. Been there done that.

Only a matter of time before this implodes follow the news Takeda wants Salix . Valeant needs to sell off
asap as the stock is @ 14 . Takeda just waiting for a lower price and it's game over for this gig period.

I was passed over for the job, ex Quintiles. Manager went with a no experience rep who will take a year to two years to understand and get good at the job. Manager was under this impression that he/she had two years to groom a rep. From the news today, that new rep may never be a pharma rep. If that is the case, the manager did that new to pharma rep a real disservice. For all of those of you who have been offered a job, this is contract pharma sales where from one day to the next shit happens, stay frosty...

Everyone's concern is legit b/c of how it all started out with the hiring freeze. However, tom. We should hear more and I, too, rec'd the text that a delivery is coming tom. GREAT news!!! To the negative commenter above.....totally unnecessary!!
