RS Medical

JK getting the job done - see below from the Columbian...

RS Medical plans to double in size to more than 1,000 employees within two to three years, chief executive officer John Konsin said this week. About 200 of those new jobs are likely to land at the firm’s Vancouver headquarters, where half of its 600 employees work, he said.

This growth could place RS Medical, also known as International Rehabilitative Sciences Inc., at the forefront of an effort to build the metro area region into the fourth U.S. hot spot for medical device manufacturers, after Boston, Minneapolis and San Francisco.

“It would bring so many jobs and so much stability to the Portland metro area,” Konsin said.

It does not matter about who is the CEO. Instead, it's the RS sales model that should have been left behind, in the last century.

As for the RS products, well, I used to distribute the Pronex device directly from the manufacturer back in the 90s, and the reimbursement from insurers left little room for profit.

The RS4i can only be sold in the WC and PI markets, as PPO insurers consider it to be 'investigational or experimental.' Their TENS units are just like those available all over the internet for far less, and Bledsoe has a wider and better variety of braces.

It's time to move on........

Soooooooooo True. JK can promise the moon, but their sales model is DOA.

Not suprised. When you say one of the top reps, are we talking about a P-Club member?

Yes, P-Club member. This move makes me wonder if this is the first domino to fall and now others will follow suit. Stay tuned, RS Medical could literally be sinking before our very eyes.

Bet ole JK wishes he had jumped ship when he had the chance. Now he is likely to lose his compnay and his job if the big fish find another lake to swim in.

If people like Antwot and Bitchit are employees of the year then there must not be much left in the talent pool at the home office. All the talent has either left on their own or been let go with the so-called "dead wood". Good luck saving the sinking ship with the crew that's left!

Did they also get a car as a reward for "winning" employee if the year?

I worked for this company in its early beginnings for a period of over 5 years. When I first started, they didn't even have the facility behind the old airport yet. They were still housed in the Stoneridge ? center located just west of where they are now.
During my time there, I worked in the billing department for about 4 years and then transferred to the marketing department for the last year or so. To make a long story short, I was let go for no good reason at all. This is a piece of shit company to work for and am glad to hear they are virtually out of business. Burn in hell for all I care RS Medical.

Believe me when looking for your next job having RS on your resume, even with >100% to plan #'s, is less than impressive to real companies.
Wasted several years with RS. Pissed to get canned (unjustly I might add ) BUT glad to be gone. Every single person that I still talk to at the company is actively trying to get a new job. I will enjoy watching RS fail. Just the random thoughts of a recently fired employee so take it or leave it.

So the P-Club member that left is the one in Birmingham I am told. How solid are the offices she was in? I am 1099 with another bracing company and would love to take that business, I would imagine the business was good since she was P-Club with RS.

Did anyone bother to investigate the date on this article? Can we say outdated? O.U.T.D.A.T.E.D. as in Sept 17th 2010.
