Riemser

Curasan has decided to create a strategic partnership with Zimmer Dental. Our reasoning for this decision is directly related to Riemser's inability to create market share, product awareness, build a sales force, employ competent people, retain employees, grow KOLs, increase sales, increase sales force, maintain a good reputation and in general their inability to make good business decisions.

I can see why Curasan chose not to work with Riemser on the latest new products. They must be really disappointed at the turn of events since they sold their worldwide dental business to Riemser a few years ago.

At the time of the sale, I'm sure they were hoping that Riemser would invest in the business and build the business. But Riemser changed CEOs in Germany shortly after buying Curasan and the new CEO didn’t come from a dental background. Even though Riemser had the cash to invest, they chose not to invest. No KOLs, no marketing programs to build awareness and no new product development. Instead, Riemser's business decision was to spend their cash building their specialty pharmaceutical divisions in Europe and tighten the budgets of the non-pharma businesses.

Now Riemser's getting rid of its non-pharma businesses. They just sold their veterinary business to another company.

Do you think Riemser Dental is next?

This doesnt sound like Curasan wrote this. Probably comes from a disgruntled ex-Riemser employee.

If you were Curasan and had the chance to have your product sold by a company that had hundreds of reps in every major market in the world, why would you even consider talking to any other company less than a tenth the size?

Well and accurately stated.

I work at Riemser and am tired of reading all these posts that say the company is destroyed. The company never was destroyed and is doing just fine, coming through the 2009 downturn better than most dental companies.

Despite what you read here, our management understands the dental business and our German CEO is investing in the US business. Most of the people mentioned in these posts have left a long time ago. Sounds like these posts are petty arguments between a bunch of ex-employees and a bunch of ex-managers. Get a life, all of you.

Actually, all posts have some validity to them. The company had some very disorganized leadership and a few internal challenges in the past. Unfortunately, some past employees were damaged from the previous business decisions. No company is perfect but Riemser US is forging on and is pretty stable now. The previous poster is right, Riemser has done O.K. during some very tough economic times compared to some of the larger industry companies.

$20K in new business is really good! I sell for a competitor and would kill for those numbers! Is Riemser hiring in any areas?

Sad that you spread gossip with x-employees and bash Riemser on CF. You are a tenured corp. employee and should be better than that.

Riemser new rental manager needs to tighten the bowels. Information is leaking everywhere. You would think he had the intelligence to do this from the get go. It's called confidentiality. Most companies have these clauses.................

He has no clue what is going on. Worst thing Germany could have done was hire another consultant. He is just cashing their checks. You really think he cares?
