Riemser

Riemser a sinking battleship? I think not.

Lots of positive changes at the company, some started by TCg, some afterwards. New sales management, new products, new sales comp plan, new marketing progams, all to meet changing market needs. Sales are humming.

More exciting things on the way.

Who or what is TCG? This must be very very old news. Hasn't Curasan been out of the picture for a while?

Yes, real old news. TCG is a consulting firm that helps foreign medical companies come into the US market. They helped Curasan enter the US in 2004 and worked with them until Curasan sold its dental business to Riemser in 2008. TCG helped with the transition, but Riemser HQ in Germany has been calling all the shots for the past 3 years.

Curasan AG (Makers of Cerasorb) has signed an agreement which provides Zimmer Dental Inc, Carlsbad, CA, (USA) with exclusive global distribution rights for Osbone®, Ceracell® and Osseolive® synthetic bone grafting products for regenerative dental applications.

Curasan's CEO is a pretty smart guy. As Cerasorb was starting to lose out to more innovative synthetics, he sold the business to Riemser and used the money to invest in the development of next-generation products. Now, he sells these products through Zimmer's huge worldwide sales force.

from Curasan press release:

Ceracell® is a synthetic, completely absorbable and bioactive bone regeneration material. Although the porosity compared to Cerasorb® has been increased considerably yet again, the material has greater mechanical stability. Thanks to the spongy structure designed after human bones and an optimised formulation an increased number of bone-forming cells dock on Ceracell®, which leads to accelerated and qualitatively better bone regeneration.

It still won't sell.

So basically Curasan has been using Riemser as a chess piece to help fund Zimmer Dental's future success in the dental bone regenration industry. The question is; why didn't Curasan come to Riemser first with their new synthetic products?

Because Straumann, Riemser, Sybron and others are doing so well with their synthetics in the US? Looks to me like Zimmer just bought a few horses that can't run. Hope they have a big barn! Now I need to get back to taking their Puros business.

Who's gonna take their Puros business? 1 of the 3 reps in the entire company?....This is my favorite blog on cafepharma by far. To watch these idiots at Riemser say things like "taking their Puros business" just makes my day. Keep the comedy coming dumb fucks.

Who said that was a Riemser rep claiming they were going to take Puros business? Puros has been losing ground the past few years to the number of different allografts offered in the dental market. Who's the dumb F now?

Someone doesn't know their facts and how easy it is to take Puros business. All Allografts companies have enjoyed scalping Puros business. I am a commission check cashing dumb fuck to you!

I believe Riemser has just about as many regenerative reps. as Zimmer. They just hired some more from what I heard and doubling in 2012. Who cares about Puros. Everybody is taking that business.

Zimmer implant reps sell both regen and implants. In fact, most of Zimmer's regen's numbers come from the implant reps. SO, Riemser's doubled sales force of 6 reps does not compare to Zimmer's 100+ reps. Someone doesn't know their facts.

Zimmer impant reps. don't know shit about regen. and can't sell their way out of a paper bag when it comes to regen. I know. I have worked there. That is why they have regen. specialists. The previous poster has no clue.
