Restructuring

How many from production? They always seamed to have lots of free time.

Really? Do you even know anything about manufacturing? Try spending 5-6 hours a day gowned up in a clean room and then you can talk about how much free time they have. You don't even have any idea what they do when they are outside of the clean room. Don't make assumptions regarding something you don't even know about!!!!!!!

All of your coworkers know how hard you work. All of us workers work hard. The top is just too busy counting their bonuses and laying off enough workers to save their jobs to notice. Don't pay them any mind.

hey Geoffff,

how's the artificial liver coming? you are a scam artist and you are going to prison.

He did not say anything about a liver but here is what he quoted in the BG " using living cells to restore damaged tissues and organs"

He may have said something different to the life science initiative director to indicate a artificial liver with living tissue?

I was fired from OI in April after 7.5 years of faith full service for no good reason. I was lied to by my manager and HR. I tried to go to my director but he didn't seem to care. I was put on a PIP for trumped up charges. None of which were my fault or worthy of loosing my job for. Some of the action points were well over a year old. I was told if I completed objectives X, Y, & Z above my other work I would keep my job yet hours after going over those objectives three months later, all my discharge paperwork was ready and I was fired with out any discussion of my completed objectives. Despite being in good standing with every other department besides the one that fired me I was not allowed to even apply for a manufacturing job I was more than qualified for and for which I already had done for 5 years.

The Engineering team used me to gain an understanding of the manufacturing process and dumped me when they thought they knew everything they needed. My manager treated me like shit and questioned everything I did only giving me direction after the fact or not at all. I never received any of my written reports back although according to her they were always wrong. She even had the nerve to ask me to write a report I was never asked to do the morning she fired me. I held my tongue while I was being fired thinking I was way to valuable to not be allowed back in any other department but that would have been just prolonging the inevitable.

It sucks to have to hear about all this. I was really proud of the work I did at OI and it felt good to make a product that could make a difference in some ones life. It is going to be hard to find another job that satisfies that feeling.

Under the silver lining side of things. Maybe this means the O awards will be stopped for good and that torture ended?

The "zero awards" will NOT be stopped. This is a big money maker for someone in HRs husband. On the bright side instead of wardrobe malfunctions this year, entertainment will be twerking clowns. Please submit your nominations for the 1) department let the most employees go, 2) the VP with the biggest expense account, 3) the genius who planned an expansion while OI is close to closing its doors forever.

Clown twerk Bro, clown twerk

If your really in the sales team and you don't know the answer to this question, then your an idiot. How did you survive the layoff. Use your head. Why would OI announce numbers to the competition? Competition is publicly traded - they have to announce their numbers. Is a competitive advantage you dolt.

G Men: ummm ya...I am sure your right and it has NOTHING to do with the millions of taxpayer dollars OI took to hire then laid off employees with no severance at Christmas & the unfair layoff practices of not laying off anyone related by marriage or birth to management.

Well played G Sr, well played.

What else would you expect from the directors and manages when the Leadershp Team does this. They are just following lead. AND don't forget "G Rhode Island Fan Club"

It's an unfortunate situation for many people and especially anyone effects by the layoff. If you were in the position to make the decision, wouldn't you do the same thing and save your family and friends first? That's usually how business works. The BS is smoke the execs blow up your ass at meetings about the company. Shows their incompetence and lack of strategical aptitude.

Maybe the dumbest question on cp ever. Why is it less of an issue to lay someone off who is 25 than 65? They call that discrimination. Look up the definition. You should be ashamed for being so ignorant.

Ummm..... Do you not have parents or what? You really don't see the challenge! I expect either you are a young whipper snapper who isn't grown enough to understand or a member of the management/ leadership team. Perhaps you should read the EEOC.
