Rep Pay Cuts

Everyone on these pages are bring up great points. But here is a little insight I heard. Rep in San Francisco (worked 7+ years) called up ASD – West. And Spoke to her that she has three young children and with this pay cut, I won’t be able to survive. ASD-West said that’s not my problem that you live in that location. Long story short this Rep interviews and gets hired by Invisalign (In 8 days) with 85k base pay with major incentives to meet plan. SO, if you were thinking of pleading your case, trying to get a cost of living increase, this WILL NOT HAPPEN.

My predictions:

1) Mass exodus at the end of February because most of us are getting that “bonus money” paid on Feb. 29th. After that…. Tenure reps will be dropping like flies.

2) After Q1 is done two things are going to happen:
- IF you didn’t meet your quota – you will leave the company within the next two weeks – finding a new job that values you.
- If you did make your quota! Hoo Woo! But that is just the beginning, you will be always looking behind your back to see what they can cut next – Because from what I heard. Deaver wants to make all reps base back to 40K (Pre-Merger days). Don’t know when that would happen…. But every year since the mergers each rep has lost 7k-10k one year and 15K the next year… you have to see the signs!!! It’s not going to get better.

After tenure reps start to leave and then ZBD fills the position with a fresh college students. This will lead to all doctors to become very frustrated. New Hire reps won’t make their numbers for at least 2 years (if they stay that long). I have acquired many, many accounts when the rep changed in the area, it’s 100% true. And on top of the cost to train the new hires?? Just irritates me to no end.

I mostly feel sorry for the RM’s they were never asked about their opinion on this comp plan. They have been told to say to all us rep, IT’S THE BEST THING SINCE SICED BREAD! Total BS. But I feel for the RM’s – they won’t be able to earn any money this year because of all the turnover AND the frustration with helping new-hires understand the dental field.

Believe me it’s now time to polish off your resume, I know mine is almost complete. But as a valued female rep “that holds the bag” every day. I can no longer work with this company that uses “scared- base selling” for us to hit our number. Also, I exceeded my January sales quota – I can’t be blamed on that. This company lost the value in seeing their reps as “A back bone.” Congratulations Zimmer Biomet Dental you have found that last straw to break your employees.
 




"Mr. Awesome" can't hit his number.

Learn what it takes to be successful and go do it. Feel like a winner. Lots of reps will be walking the stage this weekend. What makes them so much more effective than "Mr. Awesome"?

You know what though, I do feel bad for the reps that did hit their number. Think about it, you hit your year, you bring home (below industry standard) commissions, and you depend on that bonus for personal reasons (family, goal of a vacation, college savings, house renovation, down payment to a house, car), that bonus doesn't come for a few weeks, to then be told the new fiscal year $15K is being ripped away. The carrot on the stick? Oh, do it again! But wait, they just did it and expected to be rewarded. Who's to say if they repeat, another reduction of some kind, or perhaps an bigger increase in medical/dental is not going to happen? It's just B.S. I promise you guys, the base that you depend on to put bread on the table taking a hit plus an increase in benefit costs is just wrong. Labor market is way too tight for sales reps to take this, and that's exactly what they want to do, force a mass exodus.

There has been one interesting situation brought to light. It seems as though the rooming assignment policy instituted by the Rad man is actually another "favored frat boy" move. We will be discussing this with HR, and each of you in the Southern Region will be asked for your feedback.

Did you receive a personal call from the Rad man to solicit your rooming preferences? Because some did, but certainly not all. I've spoken to a few of you in that area who have corroborated.

If you are queried regarding this obvious show of favoritism and "frat boy" mentality, please respond. It's time to clean up and get things righted.

Deaver and Radman have always been sell outs! Must be nice knowing people think of you like that. Congrats your loser human beings

As a legacy 3i rep, I can tell you no one from old 3i will go to bat for these two. They have always only cared about themselves, and have stepped on the people that have supported them. How quickly they forget the people who made them successful. They are a joke.

Your math sucks. It’s incorrect. 65 + 16 + 32 = 113 not 125, and that assumes a commission rate of 2.5% all year, not our 1%. Also, if I control my territory’s performance I deserve to be paid, not have $1,250 stolen from my paycheck every month.

I’m already sick of the word “conquer” and the sales meeting hasn’t started yet. All these fake sales leaders who grab onto a word and throw a pep rally and pretend they have trained and motivated a sales team. “If you don’t hit your quota it’s only your fault. We taught you to conquer.” I’m sure it has nothing to do with our product availability or the competitive nature of our products.

But hey, let’s “Conquer”! I’m stoked!

The thing you fail to understand, or recognize, is that we have lost all faith in our leaders, and in the direction of this company.

Deaver was a giant, flaming asshole on the comp plan follow up calls, and when I heard him talk about "confidence in yourselves and your abilities," I nearly came out of my seat. Listen, loser frat boy can't lead your way out of a wet paper bag, I have confidence in myself. What I lack, is confidence in YOU, in my ASM, and in this company. Backorders KILLED US and killed our momentum for over two years. Our docs couldn't complete full arch cases for MONTHS because we couldn't get our act together enough to produce parts. And guess what? They lost faith in us. And so did I.
That's hella hard to overcome. Don't blow smoke up my ass and tell me any different.

And now, the final crushing blow after THREE YEARS OF CRUSHING BLOWS - you cut our lifeline right out from underneath us. AND you act like a total asshole in the process.

I can't even believe I have to go to this meeting this weekend. Talk about the joke being on me. I'm such a loser to have believed the last three years of lies.

I'm so over this. There's simply no way to recover.

It's laughable at this point. Get a bunch of totally pissed off reps together and think some stupid activity and a free shirt is going to change the tide? You're so wrong. You're so foolish. This whole gig is a Harvard case study in how to manage a division into the ground.

You don't actually think they are cutting everyone's pay? Longtime 3i people made good money for years. If they are still there it means they are making good money. Don't be fooled and never believe human resources and management.
