Rep Pay Cuts

ZB post merger has been an absolute shit show. Almost 70% attrition with field sales reps. Those of us that hung around were PROMISED better pay, better support, new products.

Yesterday, they shit all over their sales team, cutting everyone's salary by 15k in one fell swoop. Today, every TSR is on LinkedIn and can't bail fast enough.

And let me promise you one thing, Spineless Deaver and all the loserville 3i corporate frat boys who have run this division in the ground: when I leave, I'll tell all my high margin customers how hard we've been pounding them the last few years. You've shown your allegiance, I'll show mine.
 








For those reps that are attending the meeting in Orlando, perhaps come together and raise your concerns to the sales leadership. At a minimum don’t sit and cheer for them as they take the stage. Maybe a bull-shit chant, or an ass-hole chant. Definitely no cheering.

What you need is a leader that isn’t afraid to speak up.

Someone should call the hotel and print off 200 flyers with some key messaging that calls on reps to get organized.
Then stuff the envelopes and ship to the hotel asking hotel staff to put it in all the attendees rooms.

I think the best thing reps could do is be silent. Chants could get us in trouble. But what can they do about dead silence - in general sessions and in breakouts?

Silence is golden! I'm in! Think we can make it happen? I'd like to further propose that we support our fellow reps on the podium or leading breakout sessions, but that's it. Silence during sessions. No clapping. No questions asked or answered.
 








I'd like to take this idea one step further with a surprise action on the part of the sales reps in Orlando (one that will cause no injury or harm, but send a clear message). Who has an idea for private communication?
 








My hunch is that the dental division is toast and getting acquired by another company.

I've seen this happening where the acquiring company wants to use their trained, trusted sales teams.
Cutting rep salaries is easier than paying severance.

The new company will inherit a few zimmer folks (for the short term) who will leave the first chance they get while working for peanuts.
 












Same commissions as last years terrible plan, and they took an extra $15k from our salary. Is it possible that someone will break through and make more money? Possibly. 160 reps will make less.

Worst of all is the nice pay raise the sales leadership gave themselves. They had to pay for somehow so why not just keep squeezing the reps? 5 straight years I have made less money than the previous year. I hit my number 4 of those five years. My pay still went down. I am now down 32% from my 2012 compensation. Looks like I will be down 35-36% after this year.

On the conference call they showed a graph indicating comp plans at about $135k at plan. Then they broke it down and if you KILL IT you may be able to break $100k. Probably not. Most reps will make about $80k - $85k this year with this new insulting plan.

Dumbass Deaver will get what he pays for. He may as well just tell you reps to stay home all day. Why kill yourself at work just to bring home less? You can stay home and do that.
