Reorg

I have been at ees a long time and history tells me that the more hype there is around something the lower my expectations are for any change......I hate to tell you all but I don't think anything is really going to change, haven't seen it yet despite reports that say upper management has everything in place, blah blah blah.......still the same old rhetoric.....

I am in Inc, and we were clearly told at our NTM that there will be layoffs. Most Inc reps I talk to are now in final interviews to leave (except for the very tenured reps, probably the only ones working now). I have to give the company credit for being honest upfront about layoffs in Inc.

I agree there will be layoffs- but who has actually said there would be? I've seen nothing official or in writing about layoffs...?

Everyone keep you pants on - the pipeline is strong we are making huge headways with our new G2 platform, and we continue to see huge serges in endocutter sales.......

oh wait, I just woke up from a dream...none of that is true.

Be prepared my friends and co-workers - proactive instead of reactive, you all should have back up plans in place. Everything can be taken away at any minute.....and its all business. Go CREDO!

Once again, a long, non-transparent email from up above about how they are justifying what they are about to do to us next week. It's what they are NOT saying that we should be paying attention to. Not once have they said a word to refute the rumors about massive layoffs- or any layoffs for that matter. I will not be surprised when we have to interview for a position or are offered a lesser position for less money. If you turn it down- there's no unemployment or severence.

Ahhhhh, there is someone that understands how business works. It's a boys club at the VP level and they will promote and/or protect each other, even if they should really clean house and really transform things. Feels like everyone below the Director level is ready to sabotage at a moments notice just to protect what pathetic job they might be able to keep. The house of J&J is crumbling and can no longer rely on their reputation to maintain market share. The next 2 years will be very interesting, this year it's transformation/integration, next year will be elimination and preservation. While most of you wait for some enlightened message in 2 weeks, it will not provide any relief to the waiting we have had to endure......there will be continuous changes to our jobs.

I'm guessing we might have an idea next week after everyone ends up in New Jersey. I'm just hoping my douche bag manager gets out. If only I could be that lucky.....

This has just been freaking torture. I can't pretend its not affecting my mood and motivation. Just tired of being yanked around with the fear I'm going to have a job making 1/2 what I make now with twice the BS.

nice thread whoever started this...I have been with EES for almost 8 years, and changes are always happening. The reps who have hit their overall number and have "achievements" to back up their worth will be ok. DM's and reps who have missed forecast year after year, should be concerned, but the real problem is the industry.

Low prices and contracts have commoditized everything, yea everything, we come out with something new, Covidien comes out with it, then Applied, then some chinese version, blah blah blah. The old days of making a lot of money and easily hitting forecast are over (ask any ESR who just got their forecast) JNJ has lost some market share and contracts, has been hit with a bad economy, has had some major lawsuits and product recalls, it is a tough time for JNJ and medical device.

your fear of JNJ layoffs = jobs changing to doing something else at JNJ and selling something else - look at the BAR and BPR role.....

the long dragged out process is a weeding out process to those who ask why is it taking so long.

I kind of agree with above poster except I have hit my number year after year and even been on the trip but yet I'm still being told over and over what a piece of garbage I am. I've never had a good relationship with my manager but here lately, it's been awful. But I do wonder if it is a tactic to weed people out or he really does simply hate my guts. I'm pretty sure he hates my guts. I just hope he goes soon.....

I agree with the above post. I too have hit my numbers year after year. I have had one bad year and I am being told constantly that I'm a POS and not capable of doing this job. A lot has changed in the past few years and the days of selling to the surgeon are OVER (unless you are selling to ortho or cv)

I'm not disgruntled or angry but I think management is a little freaked out by it as well. When they were reps, you sold to a surgeon. period. I would LOVE to see half of INC managers sell Prineo or any products for that matter.

I have enjoyed my time at JNJ but I think it is coming to an end. I know a lot of INC reps have jumped ship in fear of endo taking our jobs but who knows...

Let the countdown begin...

be prepared for getting laid off if you are in INC or ENDO. Probably safe if you are Energy or biosurgery-- for now! January is the 'change' for Energy and Endo. Get ready!!!

What is really funny is how many communications we recieve where they talk about the hospital customer. Talking out of both sides of the mouth. Fortunately becasue I have hit my numbers, I have a strong resume to show my next boss who may appreciate my talents.
