Relocate to Genetech from Roche Nutley?

Work in Nutley Roche and asked if I'd apply for an open position at Genentech as part of Op-Ex. Word out is that many of those let go just recently were ex-Roche Nutley people and that anyone transferring to Genentech from "legacy" Roche does so with a bulls-eye on their forehead. Any truth to this.

Completely TRUE! Thank goodness our 18 months is up, so we don't owe the relocation money back, but if you are PIP'd out, there is no severance thanks to the Genentech policy. You are held to completely different standards if you are Roche legacy, so be prepared. Also be prepared to not be paid the same as your office mates. Many of us work next to "hi-pos" that may earn less base than we do, but their bonuses are 5-7 times what we could ever think of earning in Nutley. Plus, they are protected here and are "preferred" candidates. There are virtually no Roche hi-pos or "Do not lose" people. Ironic part is they are all bitching here in SSF because they think Roche is killing the company, but in reality, Genentech killed themselves with non performers.
