Regenerative Medicine

I have a podiatrist involved with the Noridian decision. It is now final. Only 4 applications allowed for any skin sub. We are dead. Need another quota reduction. It's over.

Ha Ha, after they reset quotas twice for the lack of talent they have over there now. Easy to be green when the quotas are 1/4th what they used to be. You can work 10-2 now which is perfect.

Hey - We work for a pharmaceutical company as pharmaceutical reps. We sell a product that comes in this huge box that costs $10,000 to close a wound that would close on its own most of the time. 10-2 is all they are gonna get. I'm gonna do this until they figure out our scam. $10,000? Really?

"Total product sales were held back this quarter by DERMAGRAFT® (down 62% to $19 million), resulting from the ongoing restructuring of the RM commercial organization"- Shire has been restructuring their commercial model since May of last year. It has been 1 year of the same excuse on the earnings report quarter after quarter. Failed model, failed leadership, pharma sales force= doomed

It has been interesting watching this from afar. Sales continue to tank while overhead ramps up. The heightened focus on compliance was needed and that has impacted sales. But not to the tune of 62% or whatever the number is. From the day Shire moved in, it has been one bad decision after another. They simply don't understand the device business and they have followed one faulty strategy with another. Case in point: adding staff in the role of Field Support Specialists. At the time they brought these folks on, the business had declined to the point that the Account Managers didn't have enough to do. The concept was a good one - two years ago. But with business down, it's simply wasted resources. It seemed they were determined to execute the strategy - even in the declining environment.

I left a few months ago and there is a part of me that wants the company to do well. I gave the new operation a chance - but frankly, it was the most mismanaged organization I have been a part of. I won't name names here, but the leadership in the East was so poor it was almost comical. I don't necessarily fault the individuals as I am sure they were and are doing the best they can do. The senior managers brought people in that didn't have the skill set to lead - and frankly, I wonder how some of them rose to the levels they did even in the pharma world.

Dermagraft is a tremendous product and I saw some incredible, limb saving cases. Until the Shire folks came over, it was a wonderful place to work. A few bozo's but they could have been thinned out and let the core remain. I was a top performer and never had a compliance issue - yet I got the feeling that the leadership team could not have cared less whether I stayed or left. They are feeling the brunt of this now. Even in down months, my territory approached 100 pieces. Today, I think it's getting less than 20...and the rep that replaced me is a good rep. Shire has simply put people in positions that make it difficult to be successful.

sales are now legit. average product is in line with other average products. just no more idiots doing crazy stuff. that is reality. so quite talking crazy stuff on here.

The dirty little secret is that we are selling the same way the old guard did it. My manager on field rides consistently has me filling out insurance verifications, scanning through patient charts, running private insurance for off label cases, spending TONS of cash on doctors.

This is the truth. Keep saying compliance and "legit". Your secrets won't stay a secret for long.

LOL....this is the same person saying the same thing over and over.

I think you spoke your peace the first time - give it a rest.

I give it 6 more months before they determine that the increase payroll will prevent any possible net gain. Sales down, payroll up, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to fix this losing equation.

In looking at who they put in as our new leader of SRM, it shows you what they think of our future. This thing is pretty much over. When our costs/overhead are more than we are brining in - it's not rocket science in figuring out we are done.

Let us not forget.

Investigation into DERMAGRAFT
•Shire understands that the Department of Justice, including the US Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division and the US Attorney's Office for Washington, DC, is conducting civil and criminal investigations into the sales and marketing practices of ABH relating to DERMAGRAFT. Shire is cooperating in these investigations.

Please go sell EpiFix with the rest of your "friends"
You are dead weight. You probably were also one complaining when your geography was too big. I have no allegiance no new or old, just a neutral eye, Cancers like you seem to be the ones that don't get it. Sales aren't down nearly as much as it looks if you back out the millions of dollars that were never legit sales in the first place. Oh yea- you got paid on that right? And now its your managers fault if you are not making bonus? is it maybe that you cant sell when you have to actually follow rules?
Good luck waiting on severance.

This person might be the idiot of the year.

I do not think that anyone said that sales are not down, how could they not be with the VA drop alone. The market is also a bit more saturated then before. But how many $M had to be written off because they were never sales to begin with, they were just shoved into accounts, freezers, or sent to reps houses and who knows where from there? Are you denying that happened? If so, then you could be co-idiot of the year.

You have no idea what you are talking about. These Shire talking points are not true. These are excuses for lacking talent. Since you are a SRM manager, what do you think when you interview someone and they give excuses for lacking talent (pharma), performance ($19 M last quarter), and execution (Shire pharma model)? You think they are a loser and you are correct. Buy a mirror.
