Primary Care in 2017?

Just dropping off CTL. I can't believe what he actually told me. "Be sure to keep your options open and your network engaged. Change is coming." If he visits CP, I'm busted. He's one of the most positive managers around and always keeps a good thought. Now I am beginning to worry. Probaby best to polish resume and begin contacting recruiters before all the real jobs are gobbled up.

The good managers take care of their people and keep them aware of changes and information that can impact their lives. Got a visit coming up soon. Will post if any relevant info comes up.

I am a former CV representative who took the package in September and I can tell you first hand that pharma sales people are not respected by people outside of the industry. If you have only sold in the office space finding a good job outside of pharma will be very difficult at best. Most will not be able to do it and that is especially true if you are over 40. Instead of worrying about when the inevitable cuts are coming, I would be more concerned about having a plan b. I have also had a hard time landing the next gig but I have also not entertained any pharma jobs. However, I have been able to line out interviews outside of pharma because I have a lot of prior hospital experience not related to Merck and that is the only reason I am getting quality interviews. I wish you guys well

I am alerting you fools that you are on a very very short chain. The downsizing plan has been signed off for implementation for three months. You better have not only a plan b but a plan c,d,f and g. You will be gone.

I know several Merck Primary Care reps and managers who have found employment in biotechnology and specialty pharma. They have landed great jobs with substantial increases in their compensation. The key was that they all took the initiative and networked. You are in control of your future. Make it happen because staying put in Merck Primary Care is not sustainable.

Why are you so bitter?

Who said Im fucking bitter? Im just sick of folks like you-ex schmerck reps, coming in here and supposedly telling us how it is out there. Thats your experience, not mine, and obviously not others from post on CP. So stop being overly dramatic shit queen. Maybe there's a reason you were let go?

Heard Amgen Neuro courting Endo sales rep, could be another vacancy soon in Sacramento. What the hell is going on.

Makes sense, he did CGRP as an HSC until Merck dropped it and sold rights to Amgen. Former Merck hq Neuro staff now in Thousand Oaks leading that program. Endo rep is good friends with the Amgen CGRP global marketing lead. Sounds like a gig in field med affairs/SL development. Some AHS SL' s vouched for him according to our NSS moles.

Oh it's a VERY good friend that got hired... the managers wife is happy for sure. And the new rep can DO NOTHING & collect a fat check while manager looks the other way. Classic Merck

Just start over, fire all managers & reps, start over in Sacremento. No more hiring friends, wives, or whatever the hell is going on there. Sounds like y'all need an intervention.

Sorry vaccine peeps in Sac town, if it's the rep from CV that was hired by her manager buddy (whose wife is her friend too) you are all screwed. She's a kiss ass, back-stabber. Lots of luck getting her head out of his ass and vice versa.

This company is so risk adverse that all the reps have to do is make a few calls to h.r. , have some lawyers write some letters and then watch the fur fly.
