Predictions for Takeda 2013

one of the posters said you use contract reps. when did this start and which contract company? i was downsized last round and picked up a contract. to be honest, as much as takeda had changed by the time i got cut...it was still better than the contract i'm on. TRY to appreciate it. you'll miss the nice small territory, company car, 4 weeks of vacation, multiple drugs to talk about, docs you've known for years... trust me.

Takeda will be a diabetes company again. Alo will be approved along in combination with Actos. This product will revolutionize how doctors manage their type 2 diabetics and bring a blockbuster drug back to Takeda. Drs have been waiting on this drug for 5 years, and I believe the FDA will approve it in mid 2013!

They been waiting for years because they can't currently write Januvia and generic actos at the same time. It has to come in one hard to swallow pill.

Agree - True BS to 2/1 date, there's absolutely going to be some type of reduction in sales force sometimes this year, but you definitely won't read about it here on CP. We'll only officially know when corporate bigwigs tell us a week or two prior to a major conference call to announce new sizing/restructuring strategy & then they will give us the exact date & possibly the % of the sales force that will be trimmed back. Relax & don't worry until we get that message setting up the soon to be coming conference call.

You are also a jackass. There is no reduction in force to take place. Things are looking pretty damn good at Takeda, we are launching 4 drugs in the next 18 months. With launch of competitor for Amitiza, we will also see a modest rise in sales from Amitiza as it is a superior product.

Pull your head out. Can't launch a new drug until it clears the FDA & the way things are at the FDA it takes double the normal time (if not longer or at all) to get approval so you think Takeda is going to keep all of us around because they look pretty like you! Cheaper to cut back a little now & then hire number of reps needed when & if drugs ever get approved. Get out of you dream world.

No doubt poster #49 is either a DM or someone in corporate office trying to keep the truth from the troops. If they can whitewash the true facts & expect us to believe that everything is A-OK then we will keep working here until the very end & then Takeda can pull the plug when they want to & let as many of us go as they feel necessary. Been thru this too many times here to be fooled again.

The truth is that anybody who comes on here & says there won't be any layoffs for this reason or that reason is just as big a liar as that person who comes on here & says layoff date will be this day or that day. Both are just like mushrooms, they live in the dark & feed on bulls***. Now I do feel will most likely be some kind of realignment, restructuring or probably some sales rep reduction, but actually not as huge as some on here would want you to believe. Just sit back & enjoy while you can & what comes about we can't control.

If we don't get some of the promised new drugs thru the FDA then we could be in trouble with too many reps & the way the FDA is today there is no guarantee of when & if a new product goes thru anymore.

Isn't is funny that people who don't want to even possibly admit that something might happen always want reassurances that someone has to give them facts to prove an issue when all they have to do is look around at the entire industry to see the trend that all companies are getting by fewer reps to sell the same number or fewer products. It's called corporate profits & with more cost controls on drugs & doctor access getting tighter & tighter you would have to be terribly simple minded to not even consider that something like this could eventually happen.

So true. Word is that Abbott, Glaxo-Smith Kline, Merck, Lilly, Novartis & Pfizer (again) with be trimming their sales force at some point this year. Some will come early while others like Pfizer will be at year end, but it's going to happen. If anyone thinks that Takeda management is not watching this trend & considering a similar move you should go back to school & retake your Economics 101 class. Many of the above companies have a good pipeline in the works, but will be a few years until hit market so better to cut now & rehire when drugs get approved. It's all about profit for the company & stockholders.
