Pacific Pulmonary Services-Class Action Lawsuit

No, No final check, just the promise that it would be "Fed-Exed" Tomorrow. I think I am going to celebrate...I don't have to go back in there EVER again YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Have a good one, and Lets get a lawyer or something, I would love to stick it to these people!!!!!!

We don't have to worry about sticking it to them. They are doing a find job of sticking it to theirselves!

I can't tell you how many people that have told me they were let go days before the quarterly comm was to be paid. If you are terminated or resign, you don't get your quarterly comm. I know of one girl who was let go a day before comm. was to be paid.

Make sure you get paid for your mileage and expenses also. They have been known to jack that from people.

Anyone employed at PPSC reading this, I have some advice for you!

Get all of the information you need while you still have a job. Log onto the PPSC site, make copies of your ranking, sales figures, pick-ups, etc. Any communication you have with ANYONE and EVERYONE from PPSC, do it via email and save a copy.

Any memo's you receive, save them! Any non-compete agreement or pay information, get a copy!

If you think your job is secure more power to you, however keep in mind the amount of people that voice their emperience on this forum. We aren't crying wolfe, we are speaking from experience!

Hello All,
Well, it happened, just as I knew it would. I was terminated today. I don't know whether to be jubilant, or sad. I was harangued by the center manager on Friday because I was angry that I had two set-ups which would have kept me out until 8pm. She proceeded to ask me what the problem was and I told her I was ok, no worries 3 TIMES. She said "I won't accept that" and told me to "go home until your attitude is better". Monday it snowed, and Tuesday I couldn't face it. I got there today, and was terminated for "Job abandonment" on one form dated yesterday, and for "Unsatisfactory job performance" on another. There have been no write-ups on me, nor have I signed anything stating my performance has been poor in the past. No counsellings, zilch. So, I was terminated at her whim. Needless to say, I am a bit pissed. I want to be on board for the lawsuit!!!!! Does anyone know the lawyer starting this process? I posted on Jan 2 with the blue angry guy. Thanks.

Did you have the same manager I did? Almost the exact same thing happened to me. I got angry that I had to go and do another rep's set up late in the evening when I had 2 patient visits of my own scheduled. I had to drop what I was doing and drive over an hour to get to this patient's house when I didn't even have everything that I needed in my car because they didn't want to pay the delivery driver overtime to make the delivery. I did the set up the best I could with what I had. I spent the time training the patient and getting the paperwork done. I was missing one piece of equipment and the rep whose patient it was said that she would bring it out to him the next day. I left one piece of paperwork there for her to pick up once the equipment was delivered. I was written up for not being a "team player" and for "treating other rep's patient's differently than I did my own patients." I was absolutely raked over the coals by the Center Manager and Area Manager. I was also told that I acted like I was better than everyone else. I'm sitting there just flabbergasted. I was also questioned about where I was or why I didn't make it in to work until 12pm one day when there were icy roads, even though I had called my manager 3 times that morning! None of the Dr's offices even opened until noon that day! They tried to get me to quit that day, but I had a family to support. They gave me 2 weeks to "straighten up my act." During this time, I announced to them that I was pregnant. I guess that was "the last straw" in the words of my manager.
I wrote a letter of complaint (as did a few other people) to HR and TG flew down and talked to me about everything. Of course he fired all of the reps, drivers, and CSR's that didn't quit first.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
All PPSC will do for Kentucky is INCREASE their unemployment rate!

I'm getting this picture of Tom Giles just flying all over the country firing people. Does it really take the VP of HR to do that? Can't anybody else at PPSC fire people? While I would be the first to agree that hiring and recruiting is way too important to be left to interns and entry-level HR people, doesn't a VP have better ways to spend his time than flying around firing people? Can't lower-level HR people do that?

OK, now that PPSC is opening a call center in Lexington, KY, won't Tom Giles pretty much have to live there to keep up with all the firings? I mean, these guys seem to LOVE turnover and now that they're opening a call center (call centers are notorious for high turnover) will Giles get anything else done except fire people and recruit people in Lexington, KY?

"I am interviewing in CA. Do they have the same problems there?"

Just a word of advice. If you can't get anything else, and have a desperate need to work, Then consider working for these jokers. If you do work for these yahoos, KEEP LOOKING FOR OTHER WORK!!!!! DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you read this thread, and others, you will see how you will be treated. This is not just sour grapes, read the stories, you WILL be there soon. Thats just a bit of friendly advice....and BTW these assholes couldn't pay me enough to return. Well, unless they gave the company to me. But, I can't see that happening.

Wow, I've just read the whole line of bitching and whining that all of you have put on this site. The firing for being pregnant, come one people, if that was really told to you, take them to court. It's unlawful. They are not that stupid, you were on the road to termination anyway, bottom line. Someone also said Tom Giles was flying all over the country firing people....not true. He goes and investigates the issues. He investigates the stupid things people do out in the field, such as forge Dr. signatures, drive drunk in the vans, managers having sex with employees, hide things on expense reports, etc.... I know because I've seen him do this and I've seen the employees make these ungodly errors in judgement. PPS is not the only company that this happens to. If you think that, then you are very ignorant on life out in the real world. Some of you I'm sure are bitter. It sucks to be fired. I know, I've been there myself. Sales Reps.....well you decided to be in the sales arena. Not just in O2 sales, but ANY sales...you don't make your sales goals for several months in a row, you're not employeed anymore. That is the business you picked. Are there some bad managers out there, you bet there are. Do they get their dues in the end, you bet they do. Go ahead, try working for Lincare, Apria, Rotech. They are different, but not in the ways you think. I'm very happy I stumbled upon this site. Didn't know it exsisted at all. Good luck to all of you in your new lines of work, but reading most of these comments, most of you don't have anything better to do but try to make a case out of nothing.

Well, Well, An Acolyte, Hello "YES" person, and welcome to the thread. You obviously don't read well, or understand what is being stated. This company has a rotten HR record, and is only focused upon Peter, Tom, and the mindless minions, such as yourself, getting ahead. You began your statement by attempting to get us to believe you were just stumbling along on the net, and happened to come across the site. Sadly, you reveal your true colors a bit too quickly. I was fired for "job abandonment" after being told by my manager "Go home until your attitude improves" which I did, but, conveniently, the CM had decided to fire me BEFORE I got back (and before you prattle on, I did follow PPS procedure) It is interesting to me that I had NEVER been written up, or "Counseled". Your company is nonsense. Tell TG and PK that they ARE NOT GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have any snappy comeback for 40 managers being fired today by PHONE CALL!!!!!!!?????? We will see how this pans out, but, go back to having your nose so far up PK and TGs ass you can smell the aftershave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, you are mis-stating the truth here. As a bitter ex employee like yourself would do. I understand that. Please let me give you some light...First I don't know your situation. Maybe your attitude did suck, sounds like it did. And by your response to my post, I can "hear" that you have a very short fuse and don't read or listen very well. Case in point, you stated that I BEGAN MY STATEMENT by trying to get us to believe I just stumbled upon this site. Well, I actually ENDED it that way. I don't have to prove myself to you, but I did just stumble upon this site, because I googled Pacific Pulmonary Services and this came up. The reason I googled it was because of the layoffs that happened yesterday. I was trying to get any information about a merger or being sold or whatever is happening here. Believe me I have a lot better things to do than look around the interenet for sites like this. But I couldn't stop myself from reading some pathetic bitches and had to respond. And I will slightly agree with you on one point, PPS does have a bad HR record. A bad record of hiring morons like yourself. They then have to clean up the mess after you leave. Seen it too many times. This will probably be the last time I write anything here or even come back to this site. I'm a good worker, I get treated well, I follow the rules, I don't rock the boat, I have a family to take care for. Sounds like if you did the same thing, you wouldn't be on this site either. Oh and by the way, I never said TG or PK were God. There is only one God in my world, and maybe you should find him and have him guide you to a better life. Good luck.

Wow, you're sitting there admitting that PPSC has a bad HR record and blaming it on all of the "morons" that they hired. As someone said before, if they are hiring so many "morons" then maybe they need to re-think their hiring processes. However, I have a REALLY hard time believing that every single one of these employees was a "moron." In fact, I liked all of the people I worked with. I believed that we made a good team and the patients liked them (and me) too. I had never been fired from a job before PPSC. I've never even come close. There were some patients and Doctors that were irate that I was fired. Their reason for firing me stated that I violated a company policy that didn't even exist. I did nothing wrong. However, the managers who fired me violated Medicare laws on a regular basis. This was brought to HR's attention and the managers kept their jobs and the employees who snitched lost theirs. Justify that, will you?

Mis-stating the truth as a bitter ex-employee would huh? Too bad you can't see what is behind what is being said. As you so eloquently stated, "I don't have to prove myself to you." Then you proceed to act as though you have an inside track on what occurred, sounds as though you are a good PPS employee though, because you don't want the facts, just one side of the coin.....oh, and by the way, that is an illogical fallacy called prima facia. That means you have the burden of proof to show I was a poor employee. You attempt to do this with NO paperwork or, counsellings, or anything to state that I was a bad employee. Oh, wait, PPS is the judge and jury, I WAS a monstrous jerk!!!! Most of the people here were doing the job and keeping our nose clean, but, obviously, because we are "morons" we enjoyed the job, did have good relations with our co-workers, as well as the clients, taking pride in what we did, but, having to deal with poor management (and, yes, in deference to you, that means from the top down). Are you that blind? You can't possibly expect people to take a firing; done incorrectly and capriciously, lying down? Or are we just obtuse for having wanted to do the job as best we could (Remember those core values.....especially the one about fun and putting patients first. Even Teamwork) I do truly feel sorry for you, you Googled this just to see what was going on, due to the firings. You must see that your job is in no way secure. Are you so blind that you cannot see what is happening in the coming months? PPS is not going to exist in the near future as you know it. The company is on a tear to save money, but spends it in buckets for a new call center, giving PK and TG piles of it all the while screwing its people out of bonuses, perks etc. Get ready, you will be unemployed very soon. But, don't worry, we will welcome you on the lawsuit all the same.

Good luck to everyone. Its a job and if you dont like it then go find something else to do. I dont care to much for whats going on but for now its paying my bills.

I understand where you are coming from! The sad thing about it is you hang in there hoping things will change and as you said, the bills need paid!

Things don't change then it is your turn to go for some reason or another. The bills don't get paid and you wonder why in the hell you didn't leave way before now!
