Osteohealth

GEM was hot while Emdogain was unavailable due to import detention. The moment it came back, GEM21 sales deflated. The drs are going back to Emdogain because it is a better value and works well. PDGF will remain an Orthopedic product and thats just fine with Sam Lynch.

BS they are spinning autologous and using PDGF, PRF or PRP. PDGF and PRF does cost a lot less than GEM. Gem just a supercharged Emdogain.

Judging by the market share you lost when it came back, it has issues. Not throwing stones, but how embarassing is it that GEM had all that golden opportunity and blew it? You couldn't have had the table set any better for you. What happened?

Anyone with half a brain and can understand and comprehend a clinical trial knows your statement is false. PDGF was PROVEN to increase bone formation in a blinded clinical trial. EMD had countless studies doen and was NEVER shown to have any affect on bone formation. All it was ever shown to do was increase clinical attachment of soft tissue. It had no affect on hard tissue.

As for PRGF and PRP, those also have never been shown to increase bone formation. There affect is only on soft tissue healing and they aren't cheap when you factor in the cost of the machine and having to draw and spin down the blood.

The salesforce tried our best to convince MJ, GK and JS that they were fucking the Gem launch up but they would never listen. Charging $329 with no discount for a new product was IDIOTIC!!!! All we had to do was charge $199, get everyone to try it and then see the results for themselves. Then, after it took off, increase the price because of high demand. Instead, they priced it out of the market and only a few early adopters tried it. There is no doubt it's a fantastic product but too many won't pay the premium now. The ball was dropped years ago.

Next thing that you'll say it is the next Infuse. It is pretty cheap to spin PRF and PRGf. The consumable is about 30 dollars. PRP on the other hand is expensive due to the consumable and equipment.I never said that EMD did anything for bone but rather that GEM was an enhanced Emdogain.
Did some research in Orthopedics, Biomemetics posted a loss of 8.5M in the first quarter apparently they are not seeing the value in that arena either. In the arena insurance pays.
Apparently, Osteohealth was taken for a ride that you shall never recover from. One of your biggest supporters is now on the SD payroll. Bio-Oss served its purpose and new materials have surpassed its shortcomings.

Do some more research and you will realize why BioMimetic posted a loss - they are working through the late stage development and have not yet launched.

GEM is a failure but that's osteohealth's fault not pdgf's.

LOL. Infuse??? Who would want that stuff in their body? That is dangerous stuff that has only been shown to be as good as autogenous bone in it's clinical studies. Wooopdeeeedoooo. Pretty much every bone graft on the market has shown that and they 10% of the cost of Infuse. Stupid delivery system also.

BMP-2 and PDGF are completely different products. I would never say they are similar.

Did you not say that PDGF was the secong coming for grafting procedures. I have seen comparisons of PRF versus PDGF and PRGF. Hands down PRF wins. PRF contains PDGF, TGFbeta and IGF1 and these are gradually released. The presence of Leokocytes and cytokines can play a significant role in the self regulation of inlammatory and infectious phenomenas with the grafted material. Read clinicals by Choukroun. I am not an Infuse however I am not a supporter of GEM.

Hans' fault? How do you figure? He's not the one that priced it as $329. That was all MJ being greedy. She kept thinking it would take off at that price and she wanted to inflate the price in the US so she could make more money licensing it in Europe. She's the blame for this mess just like she's the blame for the current mess.

You are either Hans or an Osteohealth employee trying to place the blame elsewhere. All companies are misssing the point. A graft is an expensive proposition to a clinician. So you wanted me to buy Bio-Oss place a Bio-Gide membrane. Then you come at me with Gem and tell me mix it with TCP that you provided. Don't mix it with Bio-Oss off label use. I tried it did not work lesson learned. An expensive lesson since I had to re-graft and now it comes out of my pocket. Osteohealth made its money and is on the down side of the product cycle. There are superior products on the market. When you arived your competition was DFDBA, Osteograf N and P-15. Yes, Bio-Oss was the answer then but it is no longer the answer and GEM21 definitely is not the answer.

No sales rep during the Gem launch is still with OHD and I'm certainly not Hans. I know you aren't a clinician so stop acting like you are one. Any OHD rep would have told you to mix bio-oss with pdgf even though it's off-label. I did it every day.

And you claim a graft is an expensive proposition???? LOL. You charge $600+ for a bone graft and $1,500+ for an implant and spend less than $200 on materials for both cases. Nice try.

The fees that I charge are commensurate for the advanced degree I hold. If you as an OHD representative knowingly were advising clinicians to use the product off label, you put your company in a very vulnerable position. I wonder what the FDA would say if they saw this post? The only thing that you are correct about is that many of the sales reps that helped launchG EM are no longer there. They have moved on to other companies and are now your competition. Now I'll LOL !!!!!!!!!!

You don't service a major metropolitan area. A fee of $600 for a bone graft and $1,500 for an implant not in my area.

I don't work for OHD anymore. No one who was in the field at OHD for the launch of Gem is with OHD anymore. And no, I wasn't advising customers to use bio-oss as the carrier. They would ask me if they could and I would say "you're the clinician with the advanced degree, it's up to you to decide what you want to do".

And I am working for a competitor, just like almost all of us who launched Gem.
