OBU October Zone POA

Nice casual pants: ~85%
Blue jeans: ~10%
Skirts/dresses: ~5%
No I'd say 50% jeans/leggings

I think people were just scared to wear jeans until they realized it was ok and that top leadership was wearing them and I'm with it. I mean look where we came from with the previous leadership. I think many are more at ease after that fireside chat. This meeting gets a thumbs up and we can only hope is spreads like wildfire across the company!!!! The honesty, the transparency, the feeling that they are approachable!

was good until JS's creepy creeper side came out like we heard. He needs to take a page from Michael Jordan's playbook and end on a high note. Disappear after dinner JS or be more normal like MC and stop trying so hard. Please. We need normal not dysfunctional. we've had our fillz.

Hey Kathy and Perry. Just wanted to let you know that this meeting rocks (in meeting standards)! Very laid back, better cohesion, we feel like a team, nobody scolding is like children. Jeans is awesome and NOBODY looks unprofessional. There's a good mix of buzz casual and jeans.
Mike and John's mentality is far better than the wicked witch, they just radiate positivity and are both down to earth and approachable.
Maybe based on feedback you could learn and apply some of these tactics to the whole company and the nsm. Maybe then employee satisfaction would grow some. Food for thought.

John was a stellar motivator.

The questions at the fireside chat were great too. Whomever wrote that first question has balls, I'm really surprised they answered it. However I really liked the answer. Let's just hope this new influence on Shire doesn't get squashed by Perry and Fleming. I see glimpses of old Shire and it's refreshing and energizing. So much different than the soul sucking last few years have been.

Don't get too comfy. Perry still runs pharma and Fleming runs all. This place is completely fucked until these ass clowns can find somewhere else to move on to and destroy. Eye care isn't a rare disease either

I rate the meeting a 4 out of 10. The fireside chat was so staged and y'all know they practiced their responses to questions that were generated by HQ flunkies. Food was crap, hotel was barely OK, management speeches were BORING! blah, blah, blah Blue jeans were OK but most folks were "chicken" to wear them. cluck, cluck, cluck

While I agree that many were afraid to wear jeans...you've gotta be crazy if you think those questions were scripted. Those were genuine for sure. Yes the hotel could be better but what do you expect at the last minute? I'll agree the food was bad too, the snacks were not healthy. Compared to what we had before I give it a 9. It will get better...and yes if only they would loosen the purse strings a little things could be good. Thank God we only have one more year at the dolphin/Swan for nsm.

Not sure what meeting you were at??? Most of the fireside chat questions were asked on the spot in the room. No way to “practice” responses for that. I’ll admit I was wrong. I thought this meeting was going to be a waste of time and people wearing jeans was tacky. But, not a bad meeting at all and jeans was a nice touch.

Why did you think jeans would be tacky? We're all adults, it's nice to be treated like one.

Let's be honest, a number of folks had too tight or baggy ass jeans on. Some people do not look good in jeans. The meeting was a 5 out of 10 - just don't trust JS. He has a rep of being a sleaze. Time to start my weekend drinking some cocktails!

I will be the first to admit that I went to the meeting "cynically optimistic", but after hearing both John and Mike showing us what real transparency looks like and how they want us all to develop the culture was a breath of fresh air. I admire John for having the balls to answer that first question that was clearly talking about previously leadership...that was awesome. Let's be patient with these guys and and give them some time and see what happens. They have my support!

Yes it was a great meeting. Yes it was way more positive and feel good than anything since launch. BUT the powers that be are still running the show. The Wizard (FO) behind the curtain is still directing the production. And let's be honest. It's been a horror flick and we may be in the part of the movie where things are getting better. The lull. Actions speak louder than words. Let's see what the next 3, 6, 9 months look like.

Let's hope and pray that perry and fleming leave John and Mike alone to run the OBU. This meeting was a breath of fresh air breathing some life back into the dying on the vine OBU. Let's hope that it continues maybe they'll pick nicer hotels in the future. I felt the breakouts were a little unnecessary...same stuff in a different package, but you have to fill the time with something.
However I've worked for bigger companies where divisions were run like a separate company with access to the big company resources....let's hope this goes that way!

HEY PERRY AND FLEM YOU LISTENING!?!?

I agree, this was the best meeting we have had since our training meeting in Boston. I feel optimistic again and like we have some leaders that are here to make things happen for the sales force. I appreciate how they acknowledged how successful this launch has been with what we have been up against. John & Mike were much more approachable and genuine than Kathy has ever been. The fireside chat was awesome. Let's hope we continue to see good things....
