Thank you! I just re-read my post and I know I have typos. Doesn’t make me dumb, just means I’m not going out of my way to spit the truth and have perfect grammar to people like that individual who thinks so highly of themselves because of a title. I was captain of the debate team in highschool and my mom always said I was special. What does it matter. The reality is that DBM doesn’t want to get in a verbal street fight with me because I will mop the floor with him. The scariest thing is a person like me that is not only book smart but street smart, it’s a deadly combo. I have more leadership potential in my pinky than he has ever learned from behind that poindexter haircut and Jeffery Dahmer glasses. I’m here for the verbal scrap! I’m not going anywhere.

There are bad mangers all over this company. At a district meeting our DBM asked us to have a start/stop/continue discussion as a means of feedback for him. He left the room and we discuss. The stop list was the longest followed by the start and continue had one or two things. I have never seen somebody get more red in the face over honest feedback. He was beyond pissed off and never followed through with any of it. These are the type of people that are “leading” this company. His way or the highway and the shit train keeps on rolling.

NNI doesn’t care about your morale, happiness or your career. If the numbers are good, all is forgiven. Good products, sales are good and nobody cares what kind of RBD or DM you have.

So, do what’s best for you and don’t sweat it too much. Don’t bitch about how important your job is. Fact is, you DO NOT make a difference to patients only to your families which you support. Don’t drink the cool aid, go home early regularly and please, for the love of god, keep fudging them pharmacy calls!! Don’t do it for me, do it for Vince!

Oh sweetheart did I strike a nerve? Or did I speak the truth? You’re absolutely correct that I have a job in which I am told when, why and how to think. Yet you should look yourself in the mirror and realize that anyone in this industry has zero autonomy. The industry is so regulated that none of us can really “own” our business. Reps, dbms and up the chain have to operate within a strict framework controlled through legal and Pharma guidelines. So in reality what does a DBM do aside from babysit, ride with me 2x’s a month and approve expenses? Your job isn’t that important and neither is mine. I realize that have you? Yet let’s bring this back to the real issue. It’s managers like you that think who you are and believe what you do makes an impact. You’re no better than your reps and we make our break you. You have the power to hire and fire but even there it’s not that easy. When you stop holding yourself in such high regard maybe this toxic culture and your better than everyone else attitude will shift. So until then I’ll remain yours truly.
