Novartis Oncology layoffs were cringeworthy. In house, they had some outside vendor parading daily to note down the names of people who were not sitting in their seat. They made their rounds twice or even thrice a day. If you were in a meeting or getting coffee or were offsite, you missed the chance of being marked present. The Exec Directors and many in high positions had a proxy sitting in their seat specifically a contractor who was a non employee so they can be marked present. No one else was told to have someone else sit in their place or even write a note specifically for the vendor. There were those who were never around suddenly sitting in their seats because they were aware of what was going on and then there were those who were kept in the dark on purpose so they would be marked as not present. Complete ****. The higher ups were not around and probably loafing around but the comedy was someone was placed in their space to be marked that they were there but others who were genuinely working were not marked present. Disgusting, weird, comic way. So much was fudged by the people at the top during that time and it is not even laughable.
