No investment from employer and no committment from rep

The real problem is the mindset of the people that would accept one of these in the first place. Desperation is not a good place to be.

You're doing awesome creating and then responding to each of your posts! Good luck in your quest to keep answering the NoSpam! question correctly, it must be a struggle!

I've been a rep 6 years...everything from biotech to medical devices. I find it laughable that any of you idiots find reason to compare contract to direct hire. It's all bullshit. I can't seem to remember the last time a rep won the Pulitzer or found the cure to a disease. This is a 10 year max job, so it makes me giggle that we would all sit around and sword fight about who has the biggest dick--contract or direct hire. We're all expendable, we're all low men on the totem pole. And as someone that just got laid off as a direct hire, I'd love to take any one of your "shitty, low-paying jobs." Asshats. Get the fuck out if you don't like it. And I was contract before, and had no problems getting a job afterward, so dare I say that those of you saying this has ruined you would have problems anyway. Seriously.

In SIX years you have done everything from biotech to medical devices including contract work. Amazing accomplishment in only SIX years.

And now your are unemployed. Congratulations. Great career, and all in just six years. Companies and head hunters should be battling over the rights to get you.

Yes, cheesedick, in SIX years. Hell of a time I got into an industry where after a year each any company I have worked for has decided to layoff, or I got out before they got to me. But especially because I understand the difference between "your" and "you're=you are," I seem to have no trouble finding a job. It has been my decision to turn away offers from the same shithead-sounding companies that "want aggressive, hungry reps," because in my experience, that means that they set quota at numbers God can't even hit, and I don't get dick.

Good luck in the future learning contractions and the value of the English language. I'm not sure a person on here that created an actual profile is one from which I'd ever take criticism.

Oh, my bad! you actually did use the correct syntax. I stand corrected. But 37 years in this industry? I feel sorry for you. No wonder you are so angry.

Re read---typo-added an 'r' to you followed by are. ...you are... AND I corrected it. I did make a mistake, but not the one you ranted about.

My response was not angry, just amazed that one would brag about having gone through so many jobs and industries in such short period of time.Plus most companies avaid those who have had multiple jobs in a short period of time. Good luck with the JOB hunt.

Now over 37 years in pharma in various positions plus three in BTB immediately after college. Do you have any idea how good a salesman one has to be to compile such a record? Don't be sorry for me, my career has been long and enjoyable despite all the industry changes. Spend your time worrying about your own future.

This is temporary! Our pay is temporary, our positions are temporary, our managers are temporary, our counterparts are temporary, our contracts are temporary. What is not clear here? Nothing about ANY of the positions is anything but temporary. It sucks, yes. We all know that. I treat it as a temp. side job.
