I have always known there is no investment on the part of inventiv. The part I did not know when i took this contract was how little i would give in return. I have never worked so little or cared less in my life.
Are you people really this stupid? You have to get on this board and announce that we are temporary reps working on a contract basis and that our company has no commitment to us? Really? That is a real surprise!!! DUH! Idiots.
I have 2 jobs. This is my Tues. Wed. job. My real job is the other 3 days.
So work very little and spend your time looking/interviewing for other jobs.
I think that is what we all are doing. The real problem I am finding is NO ONE will hire any of us no matter how many interviews we go on. I have been trying for a year. I cannot get past the initial stage when we discuss I am currently a contract rep. They all want to know why, how come, and question my abilities, drive, intelligence, capabilities, work ethic, connections. Everything about me is in question. This job has Fucked my future.
We can all make excuses for where we find ourselves. The bottom line is this is the worst possible gig. I should have never taken it. It is frowned upon by everyone else in the industry with the real careers. I honestly wonder if unemployment would have been better. I should have cashed in for a few months. I have taken 10 steps back by accepting my contract offer. I hope you all dont experience the same discrimination, and humiliation.
Well, if it is any comfort to you, as a current rep in a big pharma company, I can tell you that when I either: resign - get laid off - am fired, I will be replaced by a contract rep, i.e. YOU.
You are the wave of the future, the ONLY wave I see at my company unless you have an advanced science degree and those positions are few and far between and have no guarantee of longevity, either.
Most contract reps today have many years experience and are quality employees who find themselves at a time in this business that is neither as lucrative as it once was nor as promising. I think my company would really like to get rid of me and replace me with you......time will tell. Goals are unrealistic and impossible, and I think that may be step one. Hang in there and enjoy the paycheck, as I also am doing....while you look elswhere but for what I do not know.
Ha! I posted #30. I have been with my current company (BI) for over a decade now and am not contract; don't know why I would waste any time lying about that. I have great Ventiv partners, both currently and in past years, and come on here to see what's up with their company. My post was to inform you of what I see clearly from my side of the fence. Contract is the future of pharma. My 2 cents. Believe it or not.
You clearly are a cso only wishing your situation were different. Sad.
I used to work at least 50 hours a week. I was a top producer. Unable to get back into a good position I took a CSO position. I also agree it is the worst possible option. It has been down-hill ever sense. The pay blows, the people i work with blow, my manager blows. It sucks all around. If you have any other option take it. This is truly last resort.
Managers are worst than used car salesmen!! Horrible, worthless bunch of leftover has-beens no one else would hire.
Not all, some do care about the individual but most are out for themselves and don't help in mentoring or with any possible opportunities with client. Most don't even take time to understand what motivates the individual, at least mine doesn't
How could they help? They are no different than the reps. They are a bunch of fucking rent - a- managers. NO ONE else would hire. Losers every last one.
