No investment from employer and no committment from rep

As opposed to what, exactly? Big pharma; where you get to pretend like there is a long term future for you in spite of all the patent expirations and increasing office lock-outs, and STILL not get any commitment from reps because the nature of the job is only suited for those that can be satisfied with one of the most mundane, uninspiring, and degrading professions that exist?

If you were smart you would see this contract shit for what it is, and milk it till the cow runs dry. But I guess that you are looking for that ever-elusive "long-term pharma career," right?

Contract was a big mistake for me also. It has destroyed my chances of ever getting a good job in the industry again. I took it for a few months and it is now a year later with rumblings of it ending any day.

Hey people wake up! I am here just to keep the lights turned on. There is no future, no advancement, and certainly nothing "career" about these positions. Lets accept this shit for what it is and stop talking about it. It sucks yes, but this is all there is for many of us!

It is as simple as this. If you are good you will find a good job. There are not as many opportunities as there were years ago but there definitely jobs available that are in demand, pay very well and it is as competitive as hell. The best of the best get these jobs. Thats the story PERIOD.

Does the job offer a career, advancement competitive comparable pay to the industry - No. but did I hate it - No. It was a job, paid the bills and had great hours, low stress.. take advantage of your time (have lots of it) to network (outside of pharma) and move on to something with better pay and maybe more fulfilling (probably with more hours and stress)

Don't sit there and bitch and whine about poor'ol you.
