Yes please advise how the checks were mailed.
Did they tax everything or just the backpay?
Only the backpay portion is taxed, the compensatory portion is not taxed.

Yes, definitely. If you were employed as part of the Novartis sales force anytime between July 2002 and July 2010 (and you are a woman!) you were automatically included in the backpay compensation and will get your check in the next few days. You did NOT have to opt IN, only if you opted OUT were you not included.

All of you people are worse than the moron who sued McDonalds because his hot-coffee hard-boiled his nuts. Oh, I'm sorry.... is that also a holier than thou attitude? You leaches obviously have ZERO conscience. It has been said that roaches are the lowest form of life... congratulations on surpassing that benchmark, you biznitch.
Thanks for that pen!snose....If you care to know (which I'm sure you don't because it's not about you), the suit was not only about mistreatment (which most of us got), but also about being paid significantly less than our male counterparts for doing the same work (actually, probably more than most of you slackers).
I personally was told by my boss on numerous occasions that my part of his 'discretionary bonus pool' was going to the 'men who had a family to support' and that I 'didn't need it because my husband had a good job'. Oh, ok, that's fair.....maybe I should go have dinner at their house a couple nights a week.
Sorry that you have to hear it this way, but Novartis policy clearly STATES: ONLY the hot-chicks get equal compensation as their male counterparts.
Look in the mirror and try some plastic surgery with your Novartis LEACH-MONEY.

You only reinforce why Novartis became one of the WORST places to be employed.....now once and for all go away.
Has anyone recvd. additional monies for sending in the rider?

Well, I'm a lot hotter than whoever you'll marry, but then he can have surgery to look just like me....btw, it's LEECH.
YES!!!! Got my check today!!!!! $9,200 (gross for both backpay and compensatory)!!!! I knew it wasn't going to be a lot because I wasn't at Novartis for too long and I didn't seek medical attention, but.... I feel so VALIDATED!!!! Since our individual letters are confidential, I sure hope that the amount of women who qualified for compensatory damages will have an impact on the leaders at Novartis.
Thank you to the women who were brave enough to stand up in the Velez trial! Thank you! You have impacted my life greatly!
