NEW THREAD - Check Arrival Updates

This is TRUE. My check came in the mail today. I was just eligible for backpay (didn't file any additional paperwork). Of the 19 years I worked for Novartis, only 5-1/2 months fell within this lawsuit time period. My gross check was $1224.83 which works out to be $222.70 per month so you can all figure out what you will be receiving today or VERY SOON! Taxes were then taken out to arrive at net figure. Congrats everyone.

The law firm set up a hotline with a recorded message. Call 1 866 208 5285. It states that checks were mailed, 5/23. It said that it can take 2 weeks. If you don't receive your check by 6/7 call them back and they will do a stop payment and issue another check. Thank you very much plaintiffs.

Well if this is the case, then there are many here thinking they were getting far more than just 5 1/2 months of eligibility, so in the end if this is reality, this is all about not much at all!

Well this 19 year poster, must have only worked 5 1/2 months of 2002 towards and therefore that is why you only got 5 1/2 months worth.....so you left Novartis in 2002 or 2003 right?

Because the admin group is not speaking the same math as you described

Yes, I was employed by Novartis starting in 1983 (was Ciba then) all the way until Dec. 2002. So, as far as the lawsuit timeframe of July 2002 onward, I was only eligible for 5-1/2 months of compensation.

Correct. I started in 1983 (it was Ciba then) and worked for Novartis all the way till end of 2002, so only 5-1/2 months of my tenure was covered by this lawsuit. So, I just got 5-1/2 months of backpay or $1225 gross. If people worked from July 2002 till July 2010 that will be receiving a whole lot more!

Did anyone get further clarification? Will the checks include back pay, additional reward , and medical rider payments all in one?

I received my check today and it included the award for backpay and compensatory damages. Before taxes, it was equal to approx. what others have been saying...~220 per month for backpay and ~150 per month for compensatory all added together in one check. I had also submitted the complete set of paperwork including Dr's letters and records, so I placed a call to see if I was not awarded anything for that or if that check is coming separately. Will report back to this board when I hear.

Please do! I'm in the exact same situation and they would not give me any information over the phone....let us know!

Thank you Ladies for the information. I would like to find out if the medical rider is separate.

As far as being included in the back pay portion of the lawsuit- I believe that as long as you did not opt out, you will receive a payment. No sure though

Checks were mailed from Minneapolis and have started arriving in Minnesota. They were delivered via USPS. No signature was required. You will know it when you see it. Enjoy!

what was required to be included in this lawsuit. If I was employed during these times will I be included?

Yes, definitely. If you were employed as part of the Novartis sales force anytime between July 2002 and July 2010 (and you are a woman!) you were automatically included in the backpay compensation and will get your check in the next few days. You did NOT have to opt IN, only if you opted OUT were you not included.

There is an additional payout!

If you worked for Kev OBrien, you actually get double your payout! And he has to refund all the strp joints the company money he spent there!
