NEW Executive Neuroscience Sales Specialist Positons

Ok got the job. Problem is I am unsure if I should take it. I am currently employed with an extremely stable company with great products. But I have a bunch of counterparts in pcp and a crap manager who loves busy work. Shire pays well and I have 10 years CNS experience. Can any shire reps shed some light on selling vyvanse, working for shire etc? Looking to make a well thought out decision. But after being laid off once I don't want to take any unnecessary risks. Thanks.

If you are with a stable company I wouldn't make the move. Shire has and is going through several changes right now. Laid off people 6 months ago and now are all of a sudden expanding. More changes are coming. If you are unemployed, take the job but I wouldn't make the jump from stable employment.

Who posts and hires for Sr.Neuroscience Specialists to call on PCP's ?? That's just wacked- there is something very wrong and unstable about the business model and vision here. Also, the managers I met with - geezzzzz "romper-room" rejects. I wanted to hand them a sippy-cup.

The regional was a real tool. She was the reason I changed mind during the interview. I was glad they picked another person because I was going to turn down moving forward.

So 7-10 years of experience with SHIRE, selling VYVANSE, would qualify for what? More than what we make now. Now let's all help recruit a rep from another company so they can do the same job as you and make 30k more. Glad Shire has its priorities straight.

Amen! Word is getting out and I think it's fair to say that Shire is going to needs to increase salaries to retain people. We make less than industry average but if you come from outside, you will get the industry average...no bueno for current reps

Shire is a great company - very stable despite what the complainers say. Higher than industry average bonuses, good company culture, great benefits. Vyvanse is an amazing product, you have instant credibility. Marketing materials are top notch to help you grow the business. 10 years left on patent and 2 new indications coming, it's a great opportunity. Hope the negative people didn't scare you away. A lot of people are very happy here and many people who leave regret it later.

Can someone please give an honest opinion on whether or not I should resign from my current position to accept the expansion position I was offered? What is it like to work at Shire? Bonus payout is it attainable? Stability? Any honest answers would be much appreciated. Thanks

So many great reps who didn't want to leave have just to make what is fair pay in this industry, and more will. I can't comprehend why Shire can't get this figured out - my only complaint about working here.

Bonus is pretty consistent, even with a bad quarter you almost get full payout. Very stable, vyvanse has 10 more years on patent and 2 indications coming. It's a good move.

These positions were just posted as "new" and when I look on Shire they are open positions. Did they push back hiring? I was interested as I am currently a psych rep in the area of one of the positons... thanks! Do they call on psychs or mostly FP?
