NCAA FOOTBALL WEEK 8 PICK EM!

PALE HORSE: Please make your pick for the Alabama Vs. Tennessee game!

Did you hear that there is going to be a ceremony honoring Phil Fulmer for being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame? I cannot believe Tennessee is doing it at this game against Alabama? If that don't throw some salt into an open festering wound I don't what would? There are going to be a lot of BAMA fans at the game so Fat Phil better expect some booing!!

I just told Bronco Tennessee and now you tell me this. As funny as I find it the Tide may seek revenge.

I see we have the same picks except for the Kansas St and Texas Tech games, Bama. I was very surprised that you turned your back on the Tide. Tink would never do that to Arizona State. I'm not sure who to applaud louder. You or Tink. Both decisions are commendable in their own way.

Oh, another thing. I see Pale has picked all 14 games. That will put him at the 74.75% of total games picked for the LeaderBoard in Week #8, only .25% off the 75% cutoff point for Premium eligibility. With that small a margin I recommend that we give Pale Horse a Premium status for Week #8. What do you think?

I suggest we take a board vote. Those who approve or oppose Pale Horse joining the Premium players in Week #8 - please cast your ballot. Voting deadline is Saturday midnite, EDT.

Thank you.

BroncoBoy's vote: Approve :)

Ok Bronco I'll take Tennessee. Could start a family war.

Just a personal opinion, but I think that's a dynamite choice! :D

This is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. Next to American Idol and invading defenseless nations, family fighting is a favorite national pasttime!

Holy shit. First 18 minutes of the game: Oregon 36 - Arizona State 7.

We could possibly see a 3 digit score tonight from Oregon.

Arizona is a 5-1 team - touted for their outstandind defense too. hehe.

Oregon is the # 1 AP and BCS team in the country, hands down. I don't give a rat's ass what the pollmakers say.

The Ducks would roll right over the Tide.

If you defend the pass the run right up the alley.

If you defend the run they burn you on a swing or post route.

That Oregon true freshman QB Mariota is Heisman material. 6'4, 215 pounds, runs like a damn jackrabbit, can thread the needle on a slant or burn you long.

Oregon's going to the national championship game unless the system is rigged to the rafters.

I bet old Sabin will crap a few peanut shells after watching this game.

Oregon's one of the best college teams I've seen in years.

Go Ducks! :)

Bronco, Yeah I definitely approve I think Pale was dealing with some medical issues for a couple of weeks. Hopefully he is better now. Picking TCU is risky but historically Tommy Tubberville (Texas Tech Head Coach) has beaten a top 5 team and then played flat the next week? We will see.

I think BAMA might struggle a little bit with Tennessee. There are a couple of players on Tennessee's squad who will not play. Tennessee has a real bad taste in their mouth with BAMA after losing 5 straight. They are a major rival of ours so that it is why they will have some fight in them.

Arizona State "outstanding defense?" Wait a second "PAC 12 Team and outstanding defense," are not words you here very often. Do you know the only other team Arizona State has lost to? Mizzou!!

I grant you that if BAMA and Oregon play in the NC it will be a competitive game. Oregon would not roll over the Tide. There are some different players on the Oregon squad but there are also some players who have already run into the SEC brick wall. Barner for one. He was stopped by both Auburn and LSU defenses. Hell LSU ass raped Oregon and fucked a bunch of their guys up for the rest of the season. I remember LSU tossing Oregon around like a rag doll and that was only last year...

BAMA's defense give QB's a fit because of all of the different reads and last minute changes. Are they going to rush or play zone? The fun and gun Oregon offense would get the test of a life time. Don't even think about Barner trying to run between the tackles because he already failed twice! Three times would be the charm. It would be a great NC match up but there is still a lot more football to be played.

PHo for President. He's always been "premium" in my book. I have fantasies about how hot he probably is. I imagine a swarthy George Clooney look with a Southern accent. Yum.

Bronco is such a west coast homer. So much so that he's lost all ability to be sensible. Bama would wipe the floor with Oregon.....and I've only seen 10 min of the game. Hell, Florida's defense would ass rape them.

Oregon would have the Tide running in circles. With that spread hurry-up offense they'd run Bama right into the damn ground. De'Anthony Thomas is one of the best if not THE best running back in Div-1 ball. Marcus Mariota is by far the best freshman QB in the league. If he keeps playing like he has he'll get nominated for the Heisman this year. Josh Huff is a class wide receiver. Throw the ball anywhere near the guy and he makes the catch. Marcus and De'Anothy and Josh didn't even play tonight in the 2nd half. All the scrubs were in. Had Coach kept the 1st team in Oregon would have run the score into triple digits. Bama would never last 60 minutes with the Ducks. Even if Florida doesn't get knocked off by So. Carolina over the weekend I expect the Ducks to move into the #2 position. And if the system weren't rigged Oregon would be #1 right now. No fucking way should Bama be #1. That's a damn joke. Look at their funky schedule so far. Watch Tennessee pick apart their weak secondary on Saturday. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to watch it turn into a replay of the UL Monroe - Arkansass game. It will be fun to watch LSU knock them off in Baton Rouge in 2 weeks after Tennessee scares the hell out of 'em on Saturday. I'd love to see Oregon play Bama in the National Championship but by that time I think Alabama will already have a couple in the loss column and be out of the race. Good game tonight. Ducks rule! :D

Oregon's 'A-TEAM' kicked the crap out of Arizona State's defensive line in the 1st half and put 3 of their stars players out of the game. They'd do the same thing to Bama.

Tinker saw the game. She knows that her 5-1 Sun Devils didn't stand a chance. Oh, at the start of the game Arizona recovered a fumble on Oregon's 25 and scored. They danced around for about 5 minutes afterwards and all you saw was teeth ear to ear - sort of like NTL's moniker photo. That was the last time they danced and smiled all game. The ass whoopin' they took from the Ducks was merciless. It shut the crowd up too. For the last 58 minutes of the game you could hear a pin drop on the 50 yard line.

My wish is for Oregon to play Alabama at Byant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa in January and pop the same can of whoop-ass on Bama as they did on the Sun Devils tonight in Arizona. Bama would try that linebacker blitz bullshit and the Ducks would beat the shit out of 'em with the swing or screen pass. Then Bama would play 4 backers and Oregon would run right up the gut for 10 yards a pop. Then Bama would play the run and go man-to-man and the Ducks would beat the crap out of their shitty secondary on the post or flag patterns. I guarantee there would only be about 40,000 fans in Bryant-Denny Stadium by midway through the 4th quarter and half of them would be from Oregon. The next day the Governor of Alabama would order all State flags flown at half-mast.

Here, let me prove to you in numbers how powerful the Oregon Ducks are.

Check the facts. Oregon's starting star QB Mariota and running back Thomas didn't even play in the 2nd half. In fact, most of their offense and defense in the 2nd half were 2nd, 3rd and 4th string scrubs.

Next, Arizona State has the best defense in the Pac 12. Yet against Oregon they gave up a total of 454 yards PLUS 48 MORE rushing yards than they did in the previous 4 games COMBINED! At HALFTIME Oregon had 329 rushing yards and over 350 total yards.

Had Oregon kept their A-Team in the game there's no doubt they could have scored 70 points or more with upwards of 700 total yards against the BEST defense in the Pac 12. And the Ducks beat Arizona State's ass right in their own backyard.

When Missouri played Arizona State with their A-Team in for the entire game they had a total of 318 total yards and beat Arizona State by only 4 pts - 24-20.

When Alabama played Missouri Sabin kept his A-Team in the entire game. McCarron played all 4 quarters as did running back Lacy. Naturally they ran the score up to 42-10 and had 533 in total yards.

Arizona St. and Missouri were evenly matched teams. I contend if Oregon played Missouri and kept their A-Team in for the entire game that they would score over 60 points with over 650 total yards.

My conclusion is that the Oregon Ducks are NOW the AUTHENTIC #1 ranked BCS and AP team in the nation regardless of what the polls say. Their performance against Arizona State has proven that once and for all.

If Oregon played Alabama next week in Tuscaloosa, based on what we have seen thus far, I would predict a final score of Oregon 35 - Alabama 20.

I rest my case.

Holy Shit is right!! The Ducks trampled the Sun Devils. The Ducks have an amazing offense and defense and I think they would give Bama a run for the money. ASU has a great team-- to be trampled like that just shows what a strong team O is.
Well my instincts were wrong-- I thought the sundevils had the Mojo to beat them, but it looks like O is unbeatable!

You are still, by far, the smartest player on the Pick 'Em board, Tink.

I understand that your loyalty got in the way of your good sense on the Arizona State pick. But that is an honorable character trait and I commend you for it. It just reinforces my belief that you are not only the smartest player on Pick 'Em. You are also one of the most decent and moral. And I hope that you prevail and become our Pick 'Em Queen for 2012/13!
