Welcome to Week 12 of NCAA FOOTBALL PICK EM! We only have 2 weeks of the regular season but have some good games left!! There are some big match ups in the PAC 12 and Big 12 this weekend.

DIRECTIONS: I have attached and posted the USA Today Odds for these 15 games and chose the "average," of all of the different odds making services that USA Today endorses. Please choose wisely and see if you will be the NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL PICKER for the week. This is only for bragging rights!

SUMMARIZED RULES:


1) Pickers who elect to remain anonymous are welcome, but must adopt an unregistered sport's board name (ie. BroncoBoy) to get due recognition for your picks. Please identify yourself with each post.

2) During regular season play all picks will be based on the "odds" or the "point" system reported by USA Today (SportsDirect) prior to the week's games. The "points" recognized will be the "points" displayed on posted "Pick-Em" schedule that will available for viewing 3-4 days in advance of the week's games. Should the "point" spreads change after the "Pick-Em" schedule is posted - the revised "points" shall not apply.

3) YOU CANNOT EDIT YOUR PICKS & POSTS BEFORE GAME TIME!! You may pick a Thursday Night Game and make the rest of your picks before 11:00 AM SATURDAY EASTERN TIME!!

4) Not all NCAA Div. 1 games will make the weekly "Pick-Em" schedule. Only those major games of interest. We are going for quality here. Not quantity. Games with a 21 "point" spread or greater are highly discouraged. If a picker wants to add an unlisted game contact the interim coordinator BroncoBoy.

5) All pickers shall show respect and courtesy toward their fellow pickers (BRONCOBOY!). A competitive spirit is fine. But let's keep it clean and be friends. We don't want to evolve into vitriol and mean spiritness that got the poli board shut down. Be nice to one another.

6) In the event of a board dispute on operational matters - all disputes will be resolved by the majority. There are no kings or queens on this board who have the final say. We are a democracy - and the majority rules. If the majority is only 2 people - so be it.

7) If there is a tie or pushed Game everyone will receive the pick as a "win."

8) Post-season play (bowl games) shall be based on straight picks and NOT the "point" system used during regular season play.

PICK EM TEAM! You might notice that Iowa Vs. Michigan and CAL Vs. Oregon State are not listed in our picks this week. They are listed as "OFF" on the Vegas Odds on USA Today? We don't see this to often for major games?
 












Again, why is unranked Wisconsin (7-3) favored by 2.5 pts over 10-0 and #6 AP Ohio St?

Any explanation out there?

Many times these oddsmakers are correct in their analyses. I just want to know what I'm missing here. Shouldn't a #6 AP team be favored by at least a TD over an unranked opponent?

10. OHIO STATE VS. WISCONSIN -2.5 (If Ohio State was not on probation they would be making a run for the NC) Speaking of Urban, I hope his health olds up after this whooping

12. TENNESSEE VS. VANDERBILT -4 (In-State Rivals) I can’t belive I am picking Vandy on this one, but Tennessee is just that bad this year

13. SYRACUSE VS. MIZZOU -4.5 (Big East Vs. SEC, Is is basketball season yet?) This would make for a good basketball game! I got nothing for this one

14. KANSAS STATE VS. BAYLOR +13 (If RG3 was still around this would make for an interesting matchup..) line should be +26

15. STANFORD VS. OREGON -20 (Game of the week! Will Oregon keep rolling?) Oregon is going to beat an overrated Standford by about 80 points, everyone not already on the Oregon bandwagon is going to try and jump on it only to be jump right back off next week.

As a good sport I want to see you do well this week, White Trash. You've struggled hard to climb in the Pick 'Em rankings and you've been on a roll lately. And as an act of good faith and sportsmanship, I offer a suggestion. Don't pick Virginia tonight. For Christ sakes, last month they lost to Duke 42-17. And Duke really sucks. Their 6 wins were all to losers. Oh sure, NC lost to Duke too. But only by 3 points. Virginia lost to Duke by over 3 TD's. NC is nothing to write home to mom about, but given the measley 3 point spread, you gotta go with NC, my man. The first pick of the week is really important and gives you momentum for the rest of the week. You can change your pick all the way up until game time. Good luck in Week #12. May the best man or woman prevail.

I Appreciate the input, I realize this is a shaky pick, but I have taken a couple of risks this week, Assuming everyone else picks ‘safe’ this week I will either be knocking on the door for first place or firmly entrenched in last.

Well, to each his own. I am all for taking reasonable risks too. But in my mind picking Virginia over NC is not reasonable. If you hit this one tonight you deserve to surpass me and win the King's crown. Time will tell. All the best. :)
 


















BroncoBoy is just going to pick Thursday's game right now and put some deep thought into the other 14 games on Saturday before I post. This will be a critical week for all of us. Good luck to all.

1. North Carolina vs. Virginia +3 [For reasons already stated, this one is a no-brainer. Risk taking is honorable as long as the risk is manageable. IMO this one is not. I think Virginia gets walked on here. But then I thought Louisville would kick Syracuse's ass last week too. So what do I know?]
