NCAA FOOTBALL 2012 WEEK 2 PICK EM!

FWIW, Stanford is #21 in the AP and #16 in the USA Today Coaches poll - but then again Arkansas was #8 in the AP and so was Michigan the week before.

Take it all with a grain of salt.

Let's stay focused on Saturday afternoons and see what comes out in the wash. The final score doesn't lie.

How's that for a plan? :)

I agree. Until we are at least 4-6 games in the season you really can't tell. Ohio State has not even played an out of state school yet right? Oklahoma State was way over rated.

UCF is in Orlando, FL. Do I need to write a lesson defending them again?

And here I assumed y'all picked Texas A&M over UF - actually, PHo was the only one who did that.

I WAS the only one to pick Miss St over Auburn, however.

That g-d spread on the USC/Syracuse game just KILLS me....you know Vegas made money on that one.

Is Central Florida University located in Dayton?

Yep you are right UCF is not in Ohio! OSU is playing CAL this week. After the 0-3 beat down of the Big 10 by the PAC 12 are you a little nervous? At least OSU is playing CAL at home.

OSU is playing that really tough Sun Belt Conference team UAB (University of Alabama Birmingham). Remember Night Train like the UAB slogan says, "You could be the spark that ignites the blaze." GO BLAZERS!!

*UAB's new Head Coach is Gerrick McGee the old Offensive Coordinator at Arkansas. Bobby Patrino has been helping out McGee with UAB recently. Hopefully Bobby will bring some of his hoes with him to Columbus.

*BLAZERS is a reference to the major iron ore producing furnaces that use to be in operation in the BHAM area.

The CAL/OSU game should be interesting. Note that OSU is favored by over 2 TD's at home. But OSU hasn't played a decent team yet. CAL lost to Nevada by a TD and beat So. Utah decisively. Nevada lost to So. Florida at home but only by 1 point.

CAL is one of those unpredictable teams. One week they play like shit - the next week they play like a BCS contender.

I think OSU is clearly the stronger team - but after watching Oregon State and UCLA play beyond any expectation last week - nothing would surprise me.

Auburn is a 17 pt favorite over UL Monroe.

IMO that one would be worth a Vegas bet.

No way Auburn covers that spread. Not even at home.

UL Monroe for the win? No. I wouldn't go that far quite yet.

Auburn will definitely not cover the spread. I really don't think that they will lose to La Monroe though.

There is supposed to be a big story about recruiting violations in Memphis concerning Auburn on ESPN and Fox Sports tomorrow. I don't know all of the details but it is about out of control boosters throwing around cash to get players to go to Auburn. Any program that allows an Ex-Head Coach (Pat Dye) who was fired for condoning pay for play to still have any involvement with the program is totally crooked. Pat Dye is the god father of Auburn Football, he claims he has no involvement with the prorgram. I got my popcorn ready to watch as the BARN BURNS!

Urban's not playing with a full deck....yet. The defense is one of the softest I've seen here over the past 10 years.

Coach Tedford from CAL has lost 16 of his last 28 games. He knows his ass is on the line. His Bears lost to Fing Nevada in CAL's brand new $321M stadium in their opener on 9/1 at the new stadium. The mortgage payment on that sucker must be huge. Tedford knows that a victory over Ohio State would put him back in the good graces of CAL fans and, most importantly, of the adminstrators who make the hiring and firing decisions. When a man has one foot on the banana peel and the other one already out the door - he is prone to do desperate things. Watch for lots of trick plays in Ohio on Saturday.
