NCAA FOOTBALL 2012 WEEK 2 PICK EM!

Well, Bronco has lots of damage from Week #1 to repair. Time to play catch-up and fast. I feel pretty confident about these picks. I will do better than 3-9. That's for darn sure. Let the games begin!!!

1. AUBURN Vs. MISS STATE -3.5 [Looking over their last 10 meetings - Miss. State has NEVER whipped Auburn. I don't expect that to change this year. PLUS, Auburn gets the 3.5 pt. spread. Auburn looked okay against Clemson]

2. MIAMI Vs. KANSAS STATE -7 [I wouldn't bet against Kansas State even if I must give up a TD. Granted, they haven't been tested this year by a decent opponent . But I think KS beats Miami decisively]

3. FLORIDA Vs. TEXAS A&M -1.5 [Texas A&M wants to show their stuff in the SEC and prove to be a contender. Florida has their work cut out for them]

4. PURDUE Vs. NOTRE DAME -14 [If Coach Brian Kelly can light a fire under the new So. QB Golson ND will be hard to stop in 2012 and I think they are a Top 10 team. This will be a blowout at the Golden Dome]

5. USC Vs. SYRACUSE +21 [Syracuse played a decent game against Northwestern only losing by a point. I have no doubt that USC wins - I just doubt that they can cover the 3 TD spread in Syracuse. Syracuse is no pushover at home]

6. IOWA STATE Vs. IOWA -5 [Toss up. I go with the underdog that has the stronger history]

7. WISCONSIN Vs. OREGON STATE +7 [I noticed the spread has changed to 11 points for OS. Hmmm. The Cheeseheads only beat No. Iowa last week by 5 points. OS only won 3 games last year. Hmmm. The game is in Oregon. Hmmm. I have to go with the Beavers. Wisconsin proved to be a big disappointment last year]

8. WASHINGTON Vs. LSU -23.5 [Washington Huskies are actually a pretty good team. I just don't think LSU beats them by over 3 TD's - even at home. LSU is a good team. Just not that good]

9. NEBRASKA Vs. UCLA +5.5 [Never thought I'd see the day with only a 5.5 spread between UCLA and Nebraska. UCLA actually played well against Rice FWIW. And they are playing in Los Angeles. I am going to take a chance and go with UCLA]

10. GEORGIA Vs. MIZZOU +2 [Wow. Georgia has lots of injuries/suspensions. I think Mizzou pulls out a can of whoop ass on the Bulldogs, especially in the Show-Me State. As a new member of the SEC Mizzou has something to prove]

11. VANDERBILT Vs. NORTHWESTERN +3.5 [This is like the Beevis Vs. Butthead of college football for Week #2. Although Vanderbilt only lost to So Carolina by 4 last week and NW beat Syracuse by 1. Hmmm. This is counterintuitive by even though NW gets 3.5 pts. and is playing at home - I choose Vanderbilt]

12. OKLAHOMA STATE Vs. ARIZONA +10.5 [Oklahoma State is just going to embarrass the shit out of Arizona at home. The spread should be 3 TD's here]

Welcome Breaking News! Thanks for playing!

Bronco, Your picks look good. Thank you for underlining and bolding your picks. It really does help me out when I recheck everyone's picks. I really hope that Georgia pick doesn't bite me in the ass. Coach Mark Richt always suspends a bunch of his players during the first two games.

Northwestern 27 Vandy 17. Big 10 dominates the SEC...once again. Oh, and how about that pig sooie sooie gang?

Arkansas will probably drop all the way down to number 10. LOL. Like a commentator said, their season ended when the bike hit the pavement.

Wow The Big Ten really dominates the SEC with a win over Vandy! Now tell me Hairy who has Ohio State played this season? Please let me know when OSU actually has a worthy opponent. Who are you guys playing next week? Little Sisters of the blind deaf mute poor? I think you guys actually might be running out of in-state Division 1AA schools to play?

BAMA and LSU would wipe the floor with any Big 10 opponent you could match up with them.

And their brillian A.D. decided to give the job to John L. Shit. The Hall of Fame Safety has had the opportunity to see many of his numerous melt downs, especially his finest moment, which came in Columbus. A true classic meltdown.

UCF is indeed a Div 1A school, past Conference USA champions, and the 2nd largest (population) university in the country behind Arizona State.
Are they a premium football school yet? No, but they are no Div 2 school.
I am really proud of them for keeping the score reasonable against OSU in Columbus. I was hoping for an upset on old Urban Cryer.

Jeez Fuckie, you threw his ass overboard pretty quick. Meyer is like Saban. They are vagabonds. Nick may not be in Bama all that much longer either.

Those who think that the SEC dominates all conferences in the nation - you'd better grow eyes in the back of your heads. The Pac 12 is for real in 2012.

Sure, LSU kicked Washington's ass. But LSU is a conference powerhouse. I am talking about the conference as a whole.

Unranked Oregon State 10 - #13 Wisconsin 7
Unranked UCLA 36 - #16 Nebraska 30
Unranked Arizona 59 - #18 Oklahoma State 38

Then you have:

Arizona State 45 - Illinois 14
USC 42 - Syracuse 29

Damn, had they added Boise to the Pac 12 instead of Colorado or Utah the Pac 12 would be the Big Bad Leroy Brown of college football.

Pound for pound I think the Pac 12 is the #1 football conference so far in 2012.

I would fucking love to watch USC and Oregon in a tag team match against Alabama and LSU. Holy shit!

My guess is that USC and Oregon would be the 2 teams left standing at the end of the match.

Boy, could I have been any farther off on my prediction in the Arizona/Oklahoma State game?

"12. OKLAHOMA STATE Vs. ARIZONA +10.5 [Oklahoma State is just going to embarrass the shit out of Arizona at home. The spread should be 3 TD's here]

HAH!

Who would have ever guessed that Arizona would whoop dey asses by THREE TD's??

Think of the shitload of money you could have won in Vegas on that game by going with the underdog?

I don't think so.

You might be right. That was only a WAG. LSU and Bama are strong teams for sure. But Oregon has the quickest team in the nation and USC has one of the best QB's around. A tag team showdown between Bama/LSU and Oregon/USC would be a knock down drag out.

But I firmly believe that at the end of Week #2 that the PAC 12 is the best conference in the nation.

I will bet on Nick Saban over Lane Kiffin, any day of the week.

All I know is that my picks sucked this week. I won some that y'all did not (Miss St and the Gators!) but the spread screwed me.

I think I'm 4-8 this week. P-U.

Oh, without a doubt. Kiffen folds when the heat is on. Saban is steady as a rock. Saban is NFL material. Kiffen had his shot at the FNFL and flunked. Saban won't stay at Bama much longer. He's no Bear Bryant. The temptation of extreme weath will be too much to resist. The days of the Bear Bryants are long gone. Bama won't be able to match an NFL bid.

That's the great thing about starting off @ 3-9. I could only improve. Although I didn't do much better than that in Week #2. But I called the Oregon State and UCLA upsets. Maybe we should add double points to the rules for picking extreme upsets! :)
