National Meeting Memorial Day week?

No, Mrs. Soccer mom! Sorry you will have to miss your little brats activities because of something as trivial as work! Why don’t you quit and stay and raise your damn kids!

One of the worst things that ever happened in pharma was when “detail men” started getting replaced with Barbies who only work half a day and spend the rest of their time cultivating work life balance and picking their kids up from school and taking them to their soccer practice. They created the part time work for full time pay mentality. The pay scale got pushed down and most companies abandoned stock grants. This was a great way to make great money and sock away a couple million for retirement along with a pension. Not anymore. Thanks Becky.

Couldn’t agree more! I am retired now, but I remember seeing my first female rep. She worked for Merck, and was smokin’ hot! She literally told me her goal was to marry and physician, and she did. At that time we had 1 female in our district. Fast forward 30+ years, and the 10 til 2 work day is now common, and even less hours for moms with kids. A 2 to 4 hour workday is the norm. Call faking is the norm. What’s funny is that management knows this and turns a blind eye.

Stock, defined benefit pension plans, profit sharing, etc., have all but disappeared. I saw the Golden Age of pharmaceutical sales, but it has turned to crap many years ago.

I agree with some of this, but scheduling a NSM the day after a major holiday is complete BS!!! Now instead of relaxing and enjoying the holiday with our families we get to spend it preparing for this completely unnecessary meeting doing irrelevant pre-work, packing, end of the month stuff, and going to bed early because most of us will probably have to fly out at the crack of dawn.

Happy Memorial Day!
Not me. I’m going to enjoy my holiday anyway. I will pack Tuesday am and take the first reasonable flight out. I will go to the meeting with smiles and tell them how wonderful they are. I’m hoping Tuesday will be a travel day. I’ve recently decided to not let this company ruin my (mental) life anymore. Don’t let Takeda ruin your holiday.

Whaaaaaa. Whaaaaaa. I might have to actually get up before 9:00 and get on a plane to attend a meeting. Whaaaaaa. I'm going to miss precious time with my family. Whaaaaaa. I'm allergic to gluten and they won't accommodate my special dietary needs at the buffet. Whaaaaaa. I'm going to miss my favorite yoga class. Whaaaaaa. The mean people at Takeda didn't check in with me before scheduling a meeting.

All of you, please STFU. You've had nearly two years of working from home in your pajamas. Pretending to be scared of the flu so you didn't have to earn your pay. Enough. Time to get back to work. Or quit. Your choice.
Wow you need therapy, friends, a family or maybe a pet

Nope. I’m a multi-millionaire. I got in during the golden age when companies gave you stock. I’ve watched the devolution of this once great industry. Hiring sorority girls, cheerleaders and Barbie dolls to try and get the doctors attention worked for a minute. Now it doesn’t and companies are trying to figure out what happened to all their profits. Your idiots are so blinded by social justice issues you forgot that this is about money. Cheering for Ramona because she is the first female on the pharma board literally weeks after she scraped the entire GI sales team? You are a laughable joke. An embarrassment. Go home and raise your crotch fruit. Leave the business to the men in the room.

Why don’t you F yourself home office nerd. We did not work from home for two years we worked from home for eight months, and we wanted to be out the whole time to get Rx’s and pay your salary. Next time there’s a meeting the day after Christmas you’ll be first in line to fly out Christmas night? Because that’s what this is… We fly out Monday night to get to the West without getting up at 4 AM to do it. For a meeting that’s useless.
