National Conference Call Update

Access, share, volume, roi have to be a driving force otherwise why are Areas like the new England states, Minnesota, etc supposed to be hit the hardest? People are contradicting themselves!

These things are the driving force but after the massive cuts in the east coast, west coast, and parts of midwest they then may still have 75 territories or so to cut and they have to use some parameters on how to cut these.

Tenure, market share, access, growth, company rank, etc all will come into play with the other parts of the country that need to be cut but it will be done bya 3rd party so that there will not be any bias.

I would be nervous if I was Ohio though because it would be easy for corporate to not have as many RD's as they needed since they don't have any right now. Therefore, more rep cuts if fewer RD's...sorry Ohio!

Is there any chance there are enough vacancies to avoid the nuclear bomb people are predicting. Ie only limited cuts for pip and people are overreacting?

Of course people are overreacting, but the uncertainty brings that out of people. Things aren't going to be as bad as the people on this site suggests, but it still we be horrible. If one person loses their job, which has already happened, it's a bad day.

It's a shame that this happening to anyone. And even at the end, if you still have your job, you CANNOT be confident in this company, your role within it, and it's future. And THAT's not an overreaction.

Holy crap! I work for another pharma company and you guys have 70 people viewing your threads right now! There was be something huge ready to occur because I have never heard of your company as wells as this many people reading a company's thread before!

Go Hobbit Shire!

If you've never heard of Shire, and you work for another pharma company, you're an idiot. Also, understand that eventually there will be activity on your company's page when you're going through a reorganization. This is the future of pharma. Don't be foolish to think whatever company you work for wont face these challenges. I'm pretty sure most of us felt that way not too long ago.

I have now heard from reps of three RDs confirm that their RD is safe. The interesting thing is every RD is now difficult to get in touch with and distant. They are being instructed to lay low until next week!

So does anyone have any additional info about about what exactly we will find out Friday? Are we finding out job status? Ready for this to be done so we can all just move on! It will suck of the call Friiday just says "yes, laying off down to 380 reps" or whatever but doesn't tell us we are safe or displaced etc. have all the Reps who are on PIPs been let go already? Or are they firing people down to the wire on Friday?

Best advice for anyone is to read the original post on this thread. Nice job whoever wrote it.

You are spot on. I was in Renal and they did the exact same thing before a major layoff.

You will have a short national conference call, then you will receive a phone call either from your manager or from 484. 484 bad, manager good.

It's going to happen; prepare for it and be positive if you are gone. This is a small industry, don't burn bridges.

Layoffs suck, but if you want to be apart of pharma from now on, be prepared for it every 3 years.

Good luck everyone

Advocacy Reps are on the chopping block too. If they can't find a good way to get them back in the sales force in their current location (If they can't see it long term solution for the area with them there) they then will be laid off too. Everyone will eventually be a hybrid rep in this company and that is why their are pilot programs going on right now. The only reason you guys got put back into the sales force was because of Angus Russell so that the new CEO would not just come in and lay all of you off. There will only be a few of you laid off this go around so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Some of your managers will get put back into the sales force in a managing type role if they choose to. Eventually none of you will be 100% advocacy reps pure and simple. There is no point in this since we need ROI and there really is a way to judge that with you guys. Hope this helps.

If your manager has threatened you with a PIP before when your numbers were down but never officially placed you on one & now #'s are back up, does that make your chances of getting laid off higher? I hear all the talk of reps who are currently on one or who have ever been on one who are being laid off prior to the announced layoffs. Do they still get severance? That would suck to be laid off this week before the big cuts & not even get severance. I love my job & would like to keep it actually but I realize odds may not be in my favor.
