MS Panel Offers

this MS application and hiring process has generated more activity on this board than has been seen in awhile. Fortunately all will be done with offers going out by the end of the month, the winners and losers will toot their horn or bitch, moan and bad mouth everything and everyone but themselves and then the dust will settle and all will be back to normal. Thanks for the entertainment for the past few months

External here, panels went good and managers were prepared and friendly. One did comment that I wore a suit but no tie. I said 'This is Gene, thought reps only worked 10-2 Tues to Thursday'. I gave them the one finger salute and said 'thanks for the free trip, I came out to visit my girlfriend for cinco de mayo'.

Signed,

Another Seat Filler:p

That is freaking funny!

Did the panel interviews this week and subsequently got a call saying that I was still in the running and that offers would go out on May 23. I have a friend that also interviewed but didn't get a similar call. Can anyone confirm that they got a call or did not get a call? Just wondering what it means, without reading too much into it.

...signed an idiot that is disgruntled because they passed on him and they still won't get over it. Sad.

I got the same call from Princeton One. I have another offer about to come in and I'm just not sure what to do. Wish there was a bit more clarity, at least that the definite "no" candidates were notified.

You're reading too much into it. Both internal and external candidates they extend offers to won't happen until May 23. If you don't receive a call then, you can pretty much assume you were not the first choice and they won't call you right away as they like to keep people on the hook just in case the first choice falls through.

I did panel interviews and received a call from P1 requesting stock info. Also, received application to run all of the background checks. Hiring manager also called to let me know he was really impressed with my interview and to stay patient!

Good to read a logical post that sounds reasonsible after so many BS posts on here.

People please. Don't even read into this garbage post. NO ONE WILL BE CALLED WHATSOVER UNTIL MAY 23. They don't want mass hysteria on who got contacted or not. NO ONE has received calls from P1 regarding background checks and manager "was really impressed." It is so sad how evil people try to psychologically trip people up to think other have a stronger advantage. Don't listen to these lies. If you don't receive the call on May 23, then you can assume you are not the primary choice. Don't read into anything else. This is a fact. If you have already had your interview, it's best to forget about it so you won't drive yourself nuts because you still have to wait an additional 2.5 weeks. Don't listen to these haters anymore.

Sorry, but I did get a call the day after the panel interviews. All they said was that I was still in the running and that offers would go out on May 23. They said nothing more and they didn't ask for any additional info. This is a fact. Not trying to post BS. What it means? Not sure, but I did get a call.

So do they inform you if you are not moving on in the process or no word means you are done. P1 mentioned on initial phone screen that candidates would be contacted but who knows.

EVERYONE will be notified, but their first choices will be called May 23. It will take at least an additional 5 working days until the other candidates accept the offer and everything becomes official. Once it's a done deal, the candidates they kept on the hook (just in case any of the first-picks fall through) will then be called and thanked. So again, if you are not called on May 23, consider it over. If you are called a week later and they offer you the job, you will know you weren't the first choice but now have a chance to take the job.

If that actually happened, P1 was not authorized to do that and it was an unprofessional move on their part. A lot of P1 staff are very young and have not fully complied. To avoid hysteria in terms of who got a call and who didn't, the decision was made no one would be called until May 23.

Same here but P1 is setting up a drug screen next week. Also, P1 asked for my last two years w-2's and performance reviews. I know for a fact Gene reached out to two of my references last week, they are physicians I already call on in the MS market. I was told this was happening now in certain geographies in large metro areas where MS share is off the charts. I assure you I am not pulling your chain and the drug screens, mvr and credit checks are legit. Good luck all, interviews were straightforward and there are no roommates. Also, do not get greedy and if you expect sign on options or money you better have documentation showing what you are leaving on the table. The panel also told me that they were assembling diverse districts, some internals, externals, some with MS experience, some not.

Question; I referred a guy for the MS position, he did the phone interview then never heard anything. Last week, P1 calls and said they want to interview him and they need a resume. He told them he had already interviewed with them and they had no idea that it had taken place. Is this normal? He asked them to drop him from consideration due to the unprofessionalism. He is the top guy in the MS market in this area. All i could say is I don't blame you. Really makes Genentech look amateur.

Does anyone have any idea what the salary range might be for these MS positions? People seem to be collecting information from many sources. Just looking for some sort of idea. Thanks!

140-150K
Sign on bonus - max $85k
Stock options-aveage $20K
Reimbursement for vested options and unpaid bonuses left on the table at previous company

But be warned, HR makes the offers and they will low ball all external candidates. So unless you are already in the above range, don't expect it.

This post is a complete lie on so many levels. Sad people have to post things like this. The only accurate thing in the whole shitty post was there will be a combination of external and internal. P1 has not reached out to anyone to schedule anything beyond the panel interview.

Actually P1 is reaching out to those who did not get the position, not sure if they are offering others the position but received my call today.......... just fyi, and yes I went to a panel.
