Merck contract resigned til 2015 Merry Christmas!!!

It is easy to start getting nervous when reading these negative posts. There have been rumors on the Merck thread that they would have layoffs for the past two years, and so far it has not panned out. Best to stay focused and enjoy the good parts of the job. The new micro management is frustrating and annoying, but if you are doing your job you will be fine.

AGREED!!!

OK so what do we do with this "information"? Maybe it is absolutely true info from a weasel. Maybe it is absolutely false info from a fraud. Maybe it's misunderstood info from a well intentioned mix of both. Whatever. There are facts, because there is an archive of posts to this board. An accurate prediction of a layoff is like the Yeti. Very scary, but hard to find. Maybe it exists, but Mr. Experience above should be able to cite an example if it does. Hey Radar, cut and paste one example for us, will you? I know you can't. It's OK.

You obviously don't belong to this contract nor have anything to do with it! Mr. Experience here says that most of the Reps on this contract are women, DUMB ASS! Nice try, though! To be clear, I was just agreeing with the person who said they were alerted to a layoff by cafepharma. This experienced Rep is just watching for signs of a layoffs, but still works and keeps her eyes and ears open. That's all I'm saying! If you think I'm going to put my resume up on cafepharma to prove your point, you are sorely mistaken!

Let's review the original post.

HQ insider here. There is talk of prematurely ending the EPBU contract this year. This comes from a few sources in the leadership team and your dms will most likely brush it off as crap. But just be warned. You heard it first here.

Anything stand out? The post is a fraud. You heard it here first. And chick with the attitude, chill with the black helicopters.

Oh so what are you supposed to be Sherlock Holmes? Just stfu ok?

I'm not a manager or part of management. Just another rep like most of you reading this. I love this job. Everyone has their opinions about what is and what is not a good job. I love the products, I love the way our manager runs things in our district so I'm not going to behave like a toddler (like other posters on here) and complain. I'm just thankful my manager believed in me enough to hire me. If this folds up next year or so, you know what? I'm not going to start trashing PTS and Merck. It's been a good run and contracts don't last 30 years.

We are being 'tracked' because Publicis needs to justify the continued partnership with Merck. Other contract companies are pitching for contracts with Merck. By doing what it is doing now, Publicis is simply trying to ensure this partnership continues and that it has measurable results (not just sales but also call metrics and such).

Well then why is this "tracking" specific to certain regions? This is not a Publicis thing. This is a Merck Regional Manager thing. Metrics have always been used/looked at but never to this level of detail. Time after time it has been proven that micro-management is not the right way to manage your talent. This is an extremely tenured sales force who WANT to work and succeed. It's insulting to treat them/us like they have never stepped out of the house. OH, and why not let the District Managers manage their own people. How's that for an idea?

Who said it was a regional thing? I'm from the west coast and I know it's also happening out east from a couple of friends on this contract too.

If you worried about tracking just wait until after the April meeting.... with your new computer.

We don't need to wait for that. Our dm requires us to call him at 8:30 am from the office phone of our first call of the day and to call him again at 5 pm from the office phone of our last call of the day.
