Merck contract Is it Ending?

Ok enough of this..... If I stayed in the field 8 hours a day then came home to emails, storage, phone call backs, it is a lot more than 1.5 hours per months. If I have to I will keep track of my non field hours because they are a lot more than 1.5 I was on with the help desk for along time does that count? Does it out when counterparts call or text on non working days..quit with the nickel and dime counting.this is ridiculous and makes us feel like we are in grade school. May I use the restroom?

Phone calls? Who calls you? Emails? We get like 1 a week. Give me a break!

I spent hrs doing the I 9 form, the wheels document. All unpaid. I spent non working days on the phone with counterparts not paid so give me a break I also had my literature delivered to my home and had to haul it to my storage locker non field time get it?

This contract has been a HUGE disappointment. Flex my ass! They are trying to get a full weeks work for part-time pay! Publicis continues to be the worst CSO company out there!

I never thought I would say this but I agree with the "class action" comment. I work way more that 1.5 hours of admin not to mention they just started giving it to us and we have been on this contract for 2 to 3 years? I have never been a nickel and dime person..keeping tracking and asking to bill every minute I'm working on admin stuff. Now that I am being nickel and dimed, I feel like I need to return the favor. My manager told us that if the field hours don't match up with our day. he won't approve our time. Huh? So if I work and have a day where I don't get exactly one signature per hour evenly dispursed throughout the day, then I don't get paid? Now that I don't have samples of shit, how am I supposed to get a signature in offices that say "let me see what we need". The numbers are not looking good because we are all focused on bullshit like this.

So fiery, so angry...it's the Internet so it's easy to talk tough. Can you say the same in front of your manager or rvp? Lol

The truth here is that they are putting a lot of stress on us part timers. Checking hours with field time. I think I put more hours in admin than field. It all should come out even and they should quit treating us like little kids. Yes I agree they will see a huge turnover, it is happening in our group and I heard four others are looking.i am starting a log sheet of all non field time a d that includes computer time checking my numbers, storage time, talking to Merck reps, etc etc..if they ever hassle me, I will throw it back at them. Let's all be professional adults, work smart and do the best we can. This is a contract with no future, but I still give my best. I just am sick of the bs of being micro managed.

So let me get this straight...they want us to have signatures all throughout the day or we don't get paid? What kind of BS is this? They don't give us enough samples to get many signatures. Pretty soon they will hire private detectives to follow us everywhere we go. Oh wait, that's what the ipads are for. All of those that mentioned keeping track of non-field hours, I agree. I'm going to start doing the same thing. So if they dock our pay because our calls aren't adding up in Veeva, can we start billing extra for all of the time spent over the 24 hours? Two can play their game. They treat us as if we are doing something wrong all of the time. This is the wrong way to motivate a salesforce.

It is not the boss that is causing this. It's the rvp. I am in the central region and from what I hear, the northeast is awful. We are not seeing much turnover at all.

I am in the northeast. My manager expects 24 hours a week. not 24 hours in the field. BTW what is the central ranked and what has been the central ranked the past three years ago.

This is too much. Couple of weeks ago we were not getting a new product and the contract was about to be terminated. Now we are complaining because we have a pretty stable contract but Merck wants us to work so that the contract stays financially healthy. WTF?

Listen just stop the crap I am happy to be here, I work in the NORTH EAST The RVP is very nice and no one has said any of this crazy crap you are all saying my boss says do your job and don't worry about the crazy people on cafe pharma. This is still a good contract

Clearly, this one is extremely inebriated on the company Kool Aid

It is illegal to have a physician sign and not give them samples. If your DM is asking for that turn them in. Merck is under a CIA. It will stop right away. Your manager will be straightened out.

The DM is not asking for that Mr. Lawyer. What he is asking is that we sample in really stupidly low quantities so A) our samples will last well into the next shipment cycle and B) we are able to leave at least one sample on every call thus making it possible for us to obtain at least 8 sigs spread out evenly throught an 8-hour day.

I think you are full of Crap My boss says sample when you should and never sample just to sample this is a business. I run at about a 40%-50% sample to sales call ratio because that is how it works out!

All I can say is that the turnover will happen once EPBU starts on the iPad. I have it right now (sent to some reps early to help at the upcoming meetings). Everything is tracked and people will be fired for not working. Don't look to remove any software, or apps because everything is hidden and secure. Good luck to everyone and see you in the unemployment line.
