Tell me more. How much is your base and what do you get in bonus per month. I plan to leave Pharma soon.
Your background in Pharma may make it difficult for you to land a position with a device company. I'm not saying that it can't happen but...
I have both w/ documented success in med-device. Who can I contact to get in front of someone? Offices in LV don't seem to even know who the local rep is. Thanks in advance.

Depending on who you sell to in pharma, ask to meet with one of their med device reps. Orthopods will have lots of contacts and are generally helpful. Good luck.
Please tell me more. My wife has sold diabetes drugs for quite some time and would love to work for Medtronic. How could she transition. She DOES have good relationships with endos and we live in S. Texas where diabetes is prevalent. Give me some good advice, please.

If you need a base, then stay away. Im with Danek and there is no base. If you are taking a suck ass teritory then yes, you will get a base. But soon as sales pick up, you'll not get a base, or need one. [ QUOTE ]

The diabetes division is not in the OR. And no pagers. But we have cell phones sewn to our ears about 18 hours/day

If marketing and sales at Medtronic MiniMed could come up to the precision and professionalism of their engineering side, the company might be on to something. It's the sales dept culture that will be to blame for another well know device manufacturer to capture the #1 spot by 2010. The only position I would hire for from Medtronic's sales managers is to sell life insurance.

Thank you profit...You can actually see out to 2010. Well if you knew anything about this division, you would know that the competition is 5 to 10 years behind Minimed. We have all the patents and only company that does both glucose sensing and drug delivery. Both will be needed for an artificial pancreas.

FYI, Danek reps make a shitload of money and never drop off donuts. Regarding lawsuits, please see 2 billion Medtronic just paid out two months ago to just one guy for a settlement, who cares? Our stock is up 3 bucks and they are still paying each rep 7% with bonus and stock on 5million dollar turfs.
Now get in your Tuarus and fill out a report and buy some donuts.

No, it's no joke. This company is amazing. I love every part of the pay, culture, and benefits. It's the coolest. So try hard to get on. It's way different than pharma.
