MEDTRONIC SUCKS !!!

I happily left after 20+ years at MDT

I admit I was afraid to leave at first

Over the last 7 years I watched all product quality tank due to cost cutting.

Why change gold for glass in ICDs? It’s cheaper. Is there an issue with all the glass feed throughs? Wish they still used what was proven to work. I wonder if the FDA even reviewed the change and asked about its potential risks.

All the ICDs are under advisory, most of the pacers have some sort of issues, and WTF did they do to their ablation business

Good luck getting product, you can’t expense anything, and teams never meet for socializing

Your managers don’t care. They fill out what they need to on Workday twice a year. They only care about their spots, their salaries. I never once saw a manager try to help someone grow into a new role.

Anyone who is kind of on the fence about their role or has doubts that the company is doing the best by its patients and employees, I strongly urge you to consider working anywhere else. MDT is a place that makes you believe that all you can do is your current role. You know deep down they don’t care about you and that you can do a lot more.

You’ve learned countless skills by trying to adapt to MDTs way of making your business harder to execute. Leave the company. The stock price is NEVER going to change. The EOQ is always stressful and that’s the only time the managers come out. Managers don’t meet with customers and they don’t know the products. The company will just suck everything it can from you.

EPs don’t like the products.

Some of MDTs pacer business cannibilizes from its heart failure business.

Do you know anyone happy at MDT?
The culture died with Earl. Now the only shared believes or behaviors are regarding how terrible Geoff and leadership is and how little employees are respected at MDT.
They think the mission is the culture, that’s how dumb HR is.
The mission is great but it’s not the common believes/behaviors of the field. Everyone, though, can agree all of management is the issue.

This is DEI culture in action. See what it did to the Secret Service that lets a sniper crawl from roof to roof for minutes while many people are warning police. Then short 5 foot nothing agents who can't holster their weapon around a 6'2"+ man.

This place is a stepping stone. Nothing else. Once I leave, I will be leaving ESG and DEI behind for good as well.

MDT is definitely a shit show. They lost their focus when they went woke. As a hiring manager, I was sent candidates by my HR partner and they were labeled as "diversity candidate" (in which case, they immediately went into my 'pass' pile).
There's been so much turnover, even at high up levels, that everyone now is just covering their own ass.

It’s a major red flag to me that a company dedicated to improving the lives of patients needs to be constantly reminded to “put the patient first”. Shouldn’t that be built into culture???

it used to be, but the larger the company got, the greedier it got, employee value became less important senior management, they started off shoring jobs for using temp worker force in-order to increase profit margins and therefore they have to keep implying that they care about quality

I think when you import senior leadership from every industry but medical device, you lose that appreciation of how important quality really is. I just dont think Amazon, Wal-Mart, Honeywell ,... have the same culture and it shows

Wow. This truly sums it up. People don't matter here AT ALL. Your boss won't know you, which if you're a strong performer who wants to do more, that's frustrating.....but for the lower rung, they will coast by because leadership is always changing and structures always shift. If you're a minority or a woman, this is THE PLACE to be. You'll be promoted over your ability, and never critiqued or questioned. I've seen it with my own two eyes, over and over and over. Which is why the business continues to fail.

And this isn't a post of an angry sales rep.

Yes, your company is the worst of the worst.

Thankfully, for them, a sucker is born every minute. So, they can just "plug and play" on, with the newly hired college graduates that still don't know what stress is or what being underpaid really means.
