I wouldn't mind having Covidien on me. I'm not a baby, so I don't have motion issues or low perfusion. I would be fine. Has a hospital ever been sued because they're using Covidien monitors? Nope. Can you guess why? Because they're safe and effective. Yep. Safe. Effective. Cleared by the FDA. Used in Mayo clinic. Mayo clinic has better outcomes with tougher patients. In spite of the terrible pulse ox technology there. Their staff must have a sixth sense!

Cite all the clinical papers you want. What matters are patient outcomes. Is there a paper that proves there are better outcomes outside of neonatal when Masimo is used? Hint: Not in the 100+ accuracy studies.

Will they still be able to use those studies when the patent expires? Or will they all be rendered irrelevant?

Who's to say that Masimo hasn't already been the cause of a patient's death and that the doctors, hospitals, attorneys, etc. just haven't put the pieces together to lead to Masimo?!? Just because no one has made the connection or given it media coverage doesn't mean it has not happened.
 






Funny how nearly every single one of the thousand studies the idiot m reps throws on a table to say how good their crap is, compares it against out dated, end of life nellcor devices. There are only 3 studies with m v N and if you want-lets discuss those.

New skins and names do not new devices make. You are either a dishonest N manager or a disillusioned rep. please enlighten, how many spo2 studies using present technology are there with m v n?
i've seen and pointed out the bs studies by m lackies-they are against old n200/n200/n500 series monitors.
even more funny is how they bring the studies for rainbow and bid pricing is for lower tech. HMMM wonder why?????
love the bedside tests. i've placed N in m acts- very easy when purchasing isn't afraid of a lawsuit. kinda like what you said about pj's staff not acting for fear of reprisal. any way-please enlighten us pretend asian.
 






You will find NO new studies of M vs. N. Joe-ker has given strict orders that if it is found out that the study compares the 2, the study is cancelled. And if already in process, with the researcher not giving the information about comparison, the study will be shut down on M side, and M rep will pick up all equipment, with threats of lawsuit based on breach of research contract if any of the study findings are released.

I sit here reading this crap and all I can do is shake my head. You are so uneducated as to not only whats happening in Masimo, but in Nellcor. You talk about not having any studies against the new Nellcor technology and the reason for that is that Nellcor hasn't released anything new since the N600, which as we all know infringed on Masimo's patents. So, why bother with the studies when no one is doing anything.

As for the Mayo clinic that was cited earlier in these posts, Mayo Clinic has now signed with Masimo....so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

To suggest that Masimo has been responsible for a patient's death is not only ridiculous, it is irresponsible. We ALL either know or SHOULD know that the drop of a patients SpO2 is the FINAL indicator if impending respiratory failure. So, if someone isn't using their clinical skills on monitoring their patient, then it truly is their problem.

The fact remains that you people all hide behind a keyboard and monitor and make unethical, untrue and slanderous comments when you really have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Is Masimo perfect? Absolutely not. Are there a lot of challenges? Sure. But what company doesn't have challenges. Has Masimo changed and saved lives? Absolutely, I've seen it.

Before you all start making up stories about me, which I have watched you all do to others, I am not an executive, I am not a sales person. I am a Clinical Specialist who takes pride in his work and what he stands for. I would never work for a company that is full of shit, which is what you have claimed Masimo is.

You must be one of the lucky ones because I know 30 people I worked with their that sued them and won. The Pulse is great but the company is the most unethical in the industry their history of turnover proves it. Stay a CS don't get into sales and you will probably not die of a heart attack.
 






100% agree. Masimo is not perfect but has a lot of potential. With JK's vision and PJ's leaderships skills, this company cannot fail!
