March Restructuring

Overlay positions will be eliminated. Whether you are offered anther position will depend on your territory and what is available after the realignment. There is definitely a realignment, and a change in the product mix. Be prepared for the possibility of a different territory, and training in a new product and disease state. HSBS should not be affected with this round. But they are up next.

Let's say you're right... That overlay positions will be eliminated. If an overlay rep is BI and one of the base reps is Ashfield, don't you think they'll move things around so the BI reps keep a position? It's easier to eliminate a contract rep. Kind of like "bumping" people out so the BI reps or tenured reps stay. Thoughts?

not if the Ashfield rep costs 2/3 of the overlay rep

You will be placed, but not as an over lay. That structure will be removed all together. It was an ineffective concept to begin with. No accountability

Thanks O’Mighty BI Oracle!
Because a career at BI is such a prosperous one! Take a lowest industry standard pay and get a shit sandwich commission
Face it you could sell cars and make more money oh but wait a minute you would have to sell and work
Place is washed up reps who can’t perform anywhere else

That’s a well-worn but futile reason. Just look at what the company did about a year ago: the Ashfield contract was ended for many Ashfield folks. Sure some are still here but nowhere near the numbers as when they first started almost 3 years ago.

Is all of this pure speculation based on them not filling openings right now? Or is there more validity to it all? I’m especially wondering about timetable and headcount... Maybe it’s just a realignment that won’t result in many people losing their jobs at all.

Also, what about management? Are there too many managers?

Are there too many managers? Really? That's your question? That's like asking are there too many morons in congress. Of course there are too many! There's been too many for decades but somehow this ridiculous industry maintains a "head up our ass" policy when it comes to paying 6 figure salaries to glorified babysitters. In all honesty, what value do they bring to making reps more productive and driving sales? How many offices have permanently booted reps to the curb because of some meddling and tone deaf empty suite, looking to justify their own existence, pushes their reps to ask one too many stupid marketing questions or shove a detail piece in front of a physician who is clearly pressed for time? but I guess pharma companies place a greater importance on box checking and inane process over cultivating meaningful relationships and selling. I thought the definition of stupidity was doing the same failed thing over and over again and expecting a different result?

Managers are needed to babysit our army of misfit, overpaid, complaining, reps. You dopes wonder why you’re put on a plan and let go? One glance of this thread answers that question.

Yeah, that's why there needed. Funny how other industries don't emulate this brilliant sales model? Still waiting for my UPS driver to show up at my door with their manager tagging along

Actually...UPS and FedEx do have managers that tag along with their drivers from time to time and no, they won’t come walking up to the door. They usually sit in the truck. Not as frequent as here but they do ride with them. Their managers also spot check them along their route. Now that’s probably something you losers are just begging to have right? Random territory spot checks by your TBM.
