Dear Cephalon Rep.,
Here at Teva we value all that you do and the true professional sales people that you are. We would like to continue to overpay you and make sure that we waste as much money as possible. We love the fact that all of you have been surfing Cafe Pharma, bitching, moaning and most importantly - not working for the last three months. We absolutely plan on keeping all of you on board and cutting into our profits. In October we will announce that you will be elevated to Super Special Sales Representatives, given the fact that the products you sell require a rocket scientist. We do not plan on training our current sales force so that they have two or three more products in their bag while they cover their current territories. We see no value in cutting what would be considered a bloated payroll. You will also now have the choice of a Porche, Mercedes, Lexus or BMW for your company vehicle. Stay tuned for more good news and don't forget - we love your lazy asses.
Awesome! Can't wait to start!
Don't forget this wasn't our choice either. I think most of us would like to continue to operate independently but that isn't the way it is working out so save your shit for someone else.
Let's all get along since we are all going to be in the same boat.
To Cephalon reps "Operate independently" means stay home, fake calls, and waste funds. Don't worry though, you will be phased out before long.
BEEP BEEP! ASSHOLE ALERT! ASSHOLE ALERT!
First of all, your company decided to buy us not the other way around so quit complaining about it. It was a Teva decision so don't act like we chose this situation.
Also, as sure as I am that each and every Teva rep is out in the field 8 hours per day and is frugal with their corporate funds, I am not too worried about the transition. If you think that each and every "lazy and overpaid" Cephalon rep will be phased out before long and you can get back to normal you are delusional.
You should realize this is a prime opportunity to trim the fat off of both companies. If you are a poorly performing Teva rep you should be sweating it much more than a Cephalon rep with a great record.
The people that are running the show are going to look at numbers and territories and take the best people with records of performance and redraw territories that will be financially viable and go from there. There will be no company loyalty to a Teva rep with shitty performance so you can get off of your high horse and sweat it out with the rest of us.
more reality
the problem is you have marketing and senior leadership selling teva on the fact that our product sales are stellar because of our programs and corporate initiatives, not our sales people. They are the ones telling teva that our sales force is a bunch of overpaid lazy workers. Its a shame because its just not the truth. most empty territories did barely any business during the Nuvigil launch while top performers blew it away. Everyone had the same crappy detail aids and free vouchers but it was the sales people that really made the difference. Yeah the bottom 10-20% could be trimmed but that is the case at any company
Hopefully teva will have better insight to look at the raw data than to trust what the people in frazer are trying to sell them just to keep their own jobs.
The person to blame for that is JR. You would hope that the head of our CNS sales division would have our backs but he is only out for his own ass. He endorses these ridiculous marketing programs/promotions more than anybody and they never work. I have never seen a sales person so tightly integrated with high level marketing programs. It would be nice to have a person that understands the difference between the effectiveness of a sales rep and a marketing driven program.
These guys simply don't understand the sales environment and what doctors need. They actually think that you can pay a doc to come in and do some sort of focus group and they will tell you what is effective. The type of docs that would even take the money to come in and do that sort of thing are just going to tell them what they want to hear anyways.
Out of touch idiots.
Maps are in.....
220 CNS Reps, 25 Managers, 3 Directors
50 Pain Reps, 5 Managers, 0 Directors
Oncology has fewer people than they currently need and will continue to fill from other divisions.
Sales Ops here...Maps are in....people have not been assigned. And before you type it, I put it out there because we are done.

You embarrass yourself. I guess that's how you Cephalon people rationalize all of that off label marketing.
