Laziest Manager at Publicis

Where do you live that you have this view? Most people do not live in those expensive areas, but some do. So, what is pss doing to normalize the pay for those people? Many companies do adjust salary to areas of residence especially if they pay low income in general.

15 year vet here...and the smartest person I ever worked with in pharma. was downsized 3 times (he was a manager) in a 2 year period from 2008-9.

So, you show how naïve you are with your comments.

And yes, the pharma. guy was smarter than my current boss, who is super intelligent. I think the guy that got downsized a few times didn't care to kiss ass.

Look....we all know these downsizings have nothing to do with individual performance or intelligence. They get rid of salaries and pensions.

If the Harvard MBA got out of pharma, he's no genius for doing so....it's a no-brainer that pharma is not the place to be.

The question is...why are YOU still in pharma?

To clarify, I left pharmaceuticals in 2012....selling to the defense industry now. Harvard MBA is my current manager.

My suggestion is to make an exit plan as fast as possible by downsizing now. You will thank me when you hit 45-55...because he older you get, the harder pill pushing will be because at that point, they know that you know that they know that you know that they know that you know that it is all a joke and you don't bring any value to them.

Move to a top 10 US city if you can as well. There are tons of jobs. You can be picky and you can network with other ambitious people. I live in LA and I am constantly amazed at how many great opportunities are out there. And it makes me laugh when people bitch about the traffic and cost of living, because I know in my heart that these people are lazy and lack drive, and that is why they love to put LA down.

Could not agree more. If you have a strong resume you should be making money in line with your resume. You have proved your are not lazy if you have already hit high marks. Rich experience and an advanced degree? You should be making a strong base with strong bonus potential.

I wish mine was lazy. He's obsessed with his fn job. Thats worse and it's making some of us want to quit. Why the hell hire experienced people if you need to tail around to offices with us most of the day. He needs to get lost and check in with his new kid hires instead of the reps who have more experience than he has

If you can't live on $75-80k in most of America then you're over your head.

$75-80K is WAY more than most Americans earn.

Never include bonus as what you earn. Its only the weekly salary that matters, that is what you must live on. That is what is guaranteed. Bonus it chump change here anyway and is depends on sales it can disappear and you can lose it if you leave early.

When you see a manager offer a crap experience rep the same as a grad school level rep level with a dozen years you know it's time to say no.

I completely agree! I have a great resume and a masters degree in sociology and many years of pharma sales experience with high marks! I have been unemployed for over 2 years since I was downsized but I refused the accept a new job for at least 10% more than my salary which was a $87,000 base! I worked for that degree and and was employed a long time with my big pharma employer. I deserve this and will wait for the right offer!
