Layoffs

Who knows? But to the poster that said we are nothing more than a line item….correct! I have seen other posts on other threads discuss when goals go crazy high and everyone bitches but what they don’t realize it is done for a reason.
SET and SSLT do not give two shits about you. If the sales number looks like it won’t hit (products net contribution), they will just jump the ante and make goals so high that sales won’t hit their number but will work harder to try. Two things accomplished: 1) less $ going to SG&A that was planned for the brand and 2) with working to hit the number, brand may be in a better position to exceed in the next qtr.

Just look at both Farxiga and Breztri for Q3. Ridiculous goals. As long as Pascal gets his, he doesn’t care one iota on how high goals negatively impacts you and me.

They look at $$$ brought in per territory vs total
Pay and benefits given out per territory and realistic growth in the remaining lifespan of product.

Essentially what you does matters… but not in the 3 months before a layoff…. You want that terrors to be bringing in a ton of $ and business well before a layoff comes.

Also why AstraZeneca and Pfizer or any other big pharma ramps up sales force and over saturates for the first 4 years of a product. That first 4 years is crucial to how that product will perform and grow.

AstraZeneca is so old schooled with so many lazy people and managers that have hung on so long.the training is bad. Accountability and pay is bad. First line DMs are terrible and lazy. It’s toxic, washed up me to products.

Yes I’m a Senior disgruntled rep with AZ. I do not like where we are going, I don’t feel good about any of it, we are hiring very bad people (Colorado Girl is an absolute dumb ass that was put in via “knowing a friend of a friend” Also in pacific NW the manager only knows how to smile and say “we can find a way to win we just subway to have the right mindset. Our Regional leadership is a boys club that all jerks off Mr Harrington. There is no way the Denver and Seattle DMs still have leadership positions without this happening unless Harrington is just to blind to see it.

this is also true… these goals are set to what is needed for that territory to justify you being employed as well.

With the proposed Med D pricing negotiation we are doomed. Our brands are old, rebates are high and even Sarah Walters can’t fix this cluster!

Here’s whats about to happen based on the past.
  • Budget cuts. Oh it will be Mansplained as the smart thing but it’s step 1
  • Step 2. We want you to take this role as developmental opportunity. We’ll make a decision in Q4.
  • Step 3 - we are going to hold off filling any vacancies If there is more than 1 rep in the territory. Save money to invest in Q4
  • Step 4 - we need to look at all reps who are not at goal. We can’t afford to have dead weight
  • Step 5. EBDs in week long meetings and unavailable
  • Step 6 - enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday, we have a busy 45 days left in the year!
  • Step 7 - November 28th - all sales zoom meeting. - stay at home we are going to roll out a new customer centered, patient focused operating model and need to adjust our structure to prepare for the future.
  • Step 8 - November 29th - sorry but 1000 people were let go today. Now let’s get back to work.
  • Step 9 - Bend over and take it again from your DSM and CBD you stupid rep! Your lucky to have a job! God I Love AZ!!

At least the Part D is delayed 4 years

30% reduction in PC coming in November guaranteed.

Love these guarantees
If so & it follows previous 2 or 3 layoffs, no field leadership position will have a say. Gotta avoid the good ole bias view so if you sucked last year for COE and are trending the same this year....enjoy your time off.

Now I don't believe this at all. PT027 will need all hands on deck. If layoffs are to happen, I see CV.

Given that, if PC does get hit, I would bet it is because a patent is in jeopardy for either brand.
