Layoffs for Teva Respiratory too

Managers were instructed not to say anything. Otherwise they could loose their severance. About 50% of managers were cut. I would expect the same for the field.

Some good managers and leaders let go today. Safe to say many good reps will be gone also. It will be interesting to see how sales go if they push talent out the door. Being severed here is a blessing in disguise.

Looking at the new regions, it seems that the biggest factor in who was kept and who was let go was all geography based.

A lot of good managers and top performers were shown the door!

There were no regions that seemed to include areas where there is a high Medicaid population. If you have a territory where there is a lot of Medicaid and Medicare, you should prepare yourself for the worst!

Do the managers know who is staying and going now? Did they have any input or were they just given a list?

The managers of the new territories do not know. Until HR makes the phone calls and offers the much larger territories to the reps identified for retention, the reps can't give an answer as to if they want the job or the package.

Once the calls are made the managers will fill in the names on the maps being sent out today.

Best of luck to everyone.

The ineptitude of the leadership of this company is staggering. The entire process has been a comedy of errors and insensitivity. Well done Teva! The definition of a sinking ship!

Umm, you don't get a choice between the job or the package. You are either retained or not.

I have been through this before, if there are two reps in a geography and one refuses the larger territory, they will approach the other rep and make the offer to them. That's why CC asked for a quick decision in his email.

Read the Last paragraph before next steps in his email:

If you are placed in the new organization you will be encouraged to accept or decline the placement as soon as possible. In order to facilitate your decision making please consider that new regions and territories are likely to be geographically larger........

But if you decline the new territory you are essentially quitting/resigning without a severance. They are not giving you a choice to either take the job or take the severance, correct?

You are correct. If you decline your knew position you are resigning and will not receive a severance package. Severance is for those "displaced", not "placed".
