Layoffs due to Coronavirus

Life is miserable on this Janssen contract. I hate having to enter so many false calls to inflate my numbers, but that is the direction. My manager is more paranoid about losing his job than I am as he provides zero value, and needs the call numbers to be high to justify his job.

same on Adlon contract, the micro-managers here are the worst. Don't quit, wait for unemployment...

How does the skill set of the JBI sales force affect this contract? The thing affecting us is that we are first in line to get cut when the industry realizes that our access is minimal and we have to pretend to be busy to justify this job.

I think the industry will start to restructure early next year in a major way. As they realize that the reps back in the field have very limited access, the ability to have 2 reps per territory does not make financial sense.

During normal times, i would agree with this statement. But the job market does not seem very robust due to the pandemic. A high number of reps will be competing for a limited number of jobs.

Will take a minimum of 1 year to find a job in this economy with the 2nd Wave Judy beginning and hospital systems closing their individual Dr. offices.

Try 4!! Yep, on one of GSK's contract we've got 3 in most territories, 4 in some cases. And there's a push and passive-aggressive pressure like I haven't experienced anywhere in a LONG time, let alone during a time like this! I welcome a restructure and not being on this particular contract.

I would! And it would be difficult with so many reps looking for jobs and fewer opportunities out there, but I can only hope Syneos will show some loyalty and place their long-term employees first!

I wouldn’t count on it. Contract usually place the lower-paying sales reps in the best zip codes first.

What do 3 to 4 reps do in a territory? Seems like it would be a battle over lunch appointments and a cluster to manage a routing. With diminished access and 3 reps in a territory, how many offices will even see you today?

You’re spot on. GSK still thinks it’s 2002. 3/4 up territories are a nightmare for all. I’ll never do that again for any salary. And in this covid environment, it’s criminally stupid!

I think 2 reps per territory does not make much sense unless you have over 100+ targets and the territory could do 30+ lunch appointments per month. Then you would need some help. The contract I am on there are less than 40 legit targets, and only about 7-8 lunch appointments available per month. This makes no sense for 2 reps even before covid.
