You arrogant pricks are clueless about the looming notices, even if you are selected to remain as the last standing delislinger your comp will be reduced in 2018. Head honchos do not want any rep making over 80k. This is operation RR or retread rebadging. Either scenario you are phucked, I'm loving it. Merck reps are getting outplayed. Competitors hire younger reps with multiple degrees for half the cost. Merckies are always taking time off and farting around. Look at the biotechs raking in the dough, you simply don't see reps in the field after age 45. If someone is a lifer rep that is a red flag. You can already see Merck via 2020 plan hiring the youngins and getting rid of the geriatrics with zero skills. If you want any sort of career at Merck you will need to leave your cushy delislinger job and relocate to hq where you will actually have to work 8 to 5. Imagine that!! Otherwise subject yourself to the annual calls of headcount reduction. Believe me, eventually your name will be called, you are easily replaceable.

Tic tock, next week, tic tock.....calls are coming, get your affairs in order, dust off the resume, you've been warned....
 






ugh. I wish we had heard from someone other than the guy that says "delislinger". Ya, we get it, funny, because reps provide lunches. I just don't think he's a good source. So many of his predictions have come and gone. Let's try and get someone that actually knows something and is helpful. I believe there could be a big re-org. There are just not enough viable products for all the reps out there. It makes sense. But let's hear from a good source not the "delislinger" troll.
 






You are so right. This forum has been exact in the past when it comes to restructuring but the valid posts always come from a rational person who is simply trying to get the information out. It almost never comes from someone who sounds angry or throws insults. I think its going to happen but I'm just not sure when exactly.

You mean the hq slackers who sit in their offices with their door closed and spend the day on Facebooko, tweeter, gaming and porn? They do take an occasional conference call and a couple of useless meetings to discuss what to do to make more busy work for the reps....who bring in the business for hq to piss away on marketing bs. Work 9 to 5? Hardly.
Tenured reps are being replaced with cheaper reps as in lower salaries, and no more pension. Multiple degrees in what and why? A high school diploma will suffice for what we now do in so called sales.
How do I know this? I’m here at hq and bored out of my mind with the useless crap we do that positively accomplishes little.
All our names can and will be eventually called and we are all easily replaceable on up to the
C suite.
Pharma will be shrinking it’s headcount from top to bottom until a very small crew will be running all companies.

Amen brother, I have been living inside UG for two years now and Merck is too stupid to realize it. I have amassed a ton of money without having a home or rent to deal with. I've got everything I need: internet, gym, cafeteria, etc. During shutdowns I go to a hotel or friends house. I know many others who have done this by getting a P.O. box and actually living on-site. Yeah I've almost been caught by Barney Fife security and I figured out a bypass so they can't tell when I badge in and out. So if they ever give me the boot I will have the last laugh. Oops, gotta go, think someone on floor 2 just spotted my sleeping bag. FU Merck.

Always have a razor plugged in at your desk
Hide a pillow in your cabbie
First one in, last one out
Keep dry cleaning hanging by your desk
Your car rarely moves from its spot in the parking garage.

We all know but don't narc because we think it's funny. We also know you are dating a fellow hq gal, if you get married will you both live on floor 3? If you have a child you can put them in daycare during the day and all live at UG at night. Keeping a baby quiet might be tough, then hiding diapers, formula,etc. There was a guy who did the same thing a few years back but was finally caught after they found his personal belongings in a training room, he also left a hot plate on one night and damn near burned the office down. Good for you though

Everyone is screwing Smerck, there is a Rep in Cali that has been a Merck PC rep and a device sales rep simultaneously for the last two years. Never gets caught because HER device job is in the OR and SHE wears scrubs. This is awesome! Love this shi $. Another gal runs a damn daycare center and another guy can be found showing real estate during the day. This place has no loyalty towards employees so why not. You got to look out for number one before Merck number two's on you. I might deliver for Amazon Prime in my fleet car and hope my ctl doesn't order anything. Oh yeah!
