It's what have you done for me lately not what have you done for me over your career.
Well spoken. "Human Health" is really Human Shit.Severance is coming to SP before the end of the year, hence the extention. If they waited till after the first of the year, major class action suites. That's why there wasn't a PMP. They know who is going Legacy SP bye-bye. Next round after the first of the year to Merck employees with 10+ years.
" I hate to say it, but I'm doing it for the stake holders," Just like Fred waiting on that big check and walk away rich.
It's cheaper to offer sevrance now, rather than paying for 6-7 more months to unmotivated reps, with potential liability to Merck and the STAKE HOLDERS AND THE STOCK SLIP.
india:
Hello, this is Bob with Merck.
It was expected to be a $1B seller at one time. What a shame.
Yeah, wall street was all giddy today about how great this news about the layoffs is and how this is a great decision because Merck will finally transfer resources where the action is: emerging markets. With regard to the question, Yeah but what about the 12,000 job cuts the answer came from the analyst, oh, no problem because Merck is hiring people in the right places, they now have 3500 reps in china. How does it feel to be second rate citizens? We Americans are not used to that but we'll get used to it.
If layoffs are for the losers and unproductive workers, aren't they all gone by now? What is remaining are the producers and the best, right?
It will be and if you understood the vaccine market you would project accordingly. I laugh at their ignorance and arrogance while I cry for our company.
The layoffs are part of the original downsizing and restructuring that was announced in 2010 with the merger of SP. Dont try to create an unneccessary PANIC!!!
They will all try to spin it with the comments, "non revenue generating" positions. Just give us the timeline so we can make contingency plans and get the hell out of here.
No illusion here. Announced the positive earning, along with how Merck will trim expenses. That will pacify the investors. If layoffs are for the losers and unproductive workers, aren't they all gone by now? What is remaining are the producers and the best, right? Then why cutting any of them?
