Just received my discrimination reward letter

I worked with Novartis for 10 years and endured lots of discrimination in the name of the damn numbers. I worked my ass off and never missed work. I am a very intelligent person with an MBA. At on point during my career with Novartis I was pregnant and had a miscarriage. My doctor told me to miscarry at home which took over 1 week. Constant bleeding and pain you could not imagine.
When I got back to work I was named on an email by my manager that was sent to all the team. The email basically stated that if you miss any work and were not selling pills your ass would be on the line. Of course the numbers were not good and he threatened PIPS.
This was the type of pressure which my manager was facing at that time by this piece of shit company.
I dont care if Novartis wants to be number one in pharma. They cross the line.
THis demanding pressure on managers is disgusting and immoral. A human being should never be treated this way.

By the grace of GOD I got layed off in February and am no longer with this company. IN my 25 years of working I have never seen a company want to be number one this bad.
I hope you bastards rot in hell.
THANKS TO ALL THE WOMEN WHO HAD THE GUTS TO STAND UP FOR JUSTICE. I KNOW YOUR PAIN.

Working for Novartis is like working for big management who has no compassion and life is too short for that.

Sorry about your personal story, but how in the hell does your personal story warrant this measure taken against ALL of Novartis? If you didn't like it.... LEAVE. Nobody made you work here. And explain how managers pushing their reps to excel is immoral? Are you F'ing kidding me? What world do you live in? This is a competitive world.... I can't believe that you don't understand that.

I am not saying that my incident warranted millions. If you put my story together with all the others then you can see what kind of company Novartis really is.
It is immoral to tell someone they should not miss work for a medical emergency that could cause death.
There is fine line between competition and abuse. Sorry you just dont get it.

You went to work during a medical emergency that was life-threatening because your boss told you to???? Are you serious?? That is not immoral, you are just stupid. And I guess bosses only pushed female reps to excel and that was immoral.... no male rep. has ever been pushed to be competitive. This is ridiculous!!!

I was not told to work during my emergency. I was told to not miss any more work. You are not getting it.
Clearly this is also happening with the MEN. I am not disputing this at all.
Maybe you guys should start your own lawsuit because lord knows you all probably also deserve it.
Read the damn lawsuit if you want to hear more. The lawyers will be happy to give it to you.
Good Night.

I am sure the lawyers will be happy to get another suit going.... they are the ULTIMATE PARASITES. Just be honest.... we get paid to work. We get paid for results.... that is the harsh reality. Deal with it or quit. Find me a job that will pay for you to lay at home all day or perform horribly.... IT DOES NOT EXIST. At least you speak reasonably, most of these women have absolutley NO SHAME.

Most all of the employees with Novartis are not being treated well these days.
I did not realize it until I actually had the opportunity to take a break. You get used to the constant pressure and you dont realize how effects you.
If you are lucky enough to be in a good territory where patients actually have money good for you. That was not the case for me and I had to work hard for every script.
It was good while it lasted.
My new company car is going to be a Mercedes. Thank you Novartis for the upgrade.

Husband is an attorney; compensatory damages are not taxable. I got 42k net, thanks to his help writing my letter.

I did check with both my accountant and my attorney. Your husband is correct. Compensatory damages is for pain and suffering which under Federal Law is Not supposed to be taxed. The 1099 has to be reported to the IRS because the monies that are being paid out by Novartis and received by us has to be accounted for. It falls into a category just like if you were injured in an accident, and got compensated for your injuries. You are not penalized with taxes for such an award.(That only causes more pain and suffering) I hope this helps to clarify it alittle bit.

Most reps aren't being treated well???? Nice claim.... but what is your basis?

Wong! We do not get paid for results any longer. We get paid to game a system and kiss mgrs ass so we are ranked favoeably when forced ranked.

I've been gone from Novartis for some time now but I did get my award---and it wasn't nearly enough. The clock is ticking on the whole pharma rep gig anyway. I went far away from the industry---marching around in a suit as a glorified delivery person was just not my thing. Let's be real here people...the rep gig is a bunch of bullshit. It is a nice gig if you want to work until 2pm everyday. Free car...free gas all great but are you prepared for what you will do when reps become completely obsolete? There is nothing that a rep can tell a practicing physicn with a PHD that he doesn't already know---and if they don't know it they certainly are not going to give you the satisfaction.

I say to all who got an award---finish out your masters degree and get out of the industry now before you get put out!

For those who are still in the industry and have received awards or recognition, it might be wise to use that momentum to finish up any advanced degrees or certifications. Transitioning out of the industry could open up new opportunities and potentially offer more satisfaction and stability.

If you’re facing challenges or need support as you make this transition, it might be helpful to consult with professionals who understand the industry and can guide you through the process. Consumer Attorneys can assist with career-related legal matters and help ensure you’re making the best decisions for your future. Reach out to them if you need guidance on navigating this shift or addressing any legal concerns you might have.

Got my letter in the mail today and it tells me how much I will be receiving next month.... All I have to say is thank you to the women who went to court and fought for us... WOW!!! First I get the severance now this check is coming next month....CHAAAA CHING!!! Thanks Novartis!!
Before some jerk says something awful. just know it all depends on your manager and your team how and if you’re discriminated against.
Many managers don’t care at all about company values.

I completely agree with your perspective. Leveraging awards and recognition to pursue advanced degrees or certifications can indeed be a strategic move for those looking to transition out of the industry. This approach not only enhances your qualifications but also opens up new career opportunities that might offer greater satisfaction and stability.

If you're navigating this transition and encountering challenges, consulting with professionals who understand the industry can provide invaluable support. Consumer Attorneys, for example, can offer guidance on various career-related legal matters and ensure you make well-informed decisions about your future. For those dealing with issues such as discrimination, they can provide assistance in understanding and addressing legal concerns. A useful resource on this topic is how to prove pregnancy discrimination, which offers insights into proving and resolving such issues effectively.
