J&J Vaccine Mandate

Most religious text won't specifically call out vaccines by name since they were written thousands of years ago. But many do mention things like keeping your body pure, not mixing blood, protecting life, etc

The law doesn't state a person needs to belong to a specific religion and its not really lawful for an employer to ask what religion you are. As long as it is a "sincere and genuine" belief you have then your exemption is justified.

Most vaccines include an ingredient from fetal tissues. It is this ingredient, not the idea of vaccines that some have successfully used a religious exemption.

I'm not either ... us JNJers only have about 5 weeks left of employment unless they do honor medical or religious exemptions. Lots of us will be let go with no severance or unemployment to lean on. I'm the only one in my team of about 30 not vaccinated so I'm sure leadership doesn't care about me.

With only a quarter of Blacks being vaccinated, this could end up detailing their diversity efforts.

Still no word on how to file an exemption!?

After downward revenue for over 18 months because of COVID- jnj just found a way to reduce head count.

And found a way to down size us without paying anyone severance or unemployment.

Look at this companie's history. How many lawsuits has jnj lost? How much have they paid out in FDA fines? Court settlements?

This a company that has an ethical standard in which profit comes first. No matter what.

Clipping hundreds of us is nothing compared to killing patients.

As long as the money keeps rolling in.

They explained out to file an exemption in the FAQs that were sent out last Monday. Basically you just work through AskGs. I know at least 1 person who was approved for exemption.

Johnson & Johnson originally said that the vaccine would not be mandated, but they now say it is mandated or be fired by Oct. 4. A sales company who is not good enough to honor their own word, or even be good enough at sales to sell their own employees on the effectiveness, safety, and necessity of this vaccine. Employees who have been with them 10, 15, and 20 years. What a joke this company has turned out to be.

No consideration for those previously infected, which is turning out to provide just as much protection as the vaccine. Most people I know caved and got the vaccine basically in tears in order to provide for their family. This is so shameful J&J.

"most people I know"
"Caved"
"Basically in tears"
"in order to provide for their family"

No exaggeration in any of these statements. GTFOH

J&J announced vaccine mandate today - questions:

1) If a company mandates experimental use vaccines as a condition of employment, are they liable for any and all (including long term) side effects? Any attorneys out there with advice?

2) Can HR tell me, based on SCIENCE, which vaccine is the best? There should be 8 months of real-world data, but no analysis of the vaccine efficacy and side effect profiles.

3) Any idea of the company plan if no one cooperates with the proof of vaccination requirement? Would be fun to see the people flip the script on management.

Isn’t this the norm across the industry?

Yes it's unfortunately the NORM and it should n't be. We shouldn't be forced. I will tell you that it's difficult to get a medical exception. It's going to be easier to get a religious exemption. You must google to find the proper wording to use.

I work for another company, and I did get a religious exemption. It wasn't easy. I tried initially with the fetal tissues from abortions, but they came back and said that Pfizer and Moderna don't use them, but I've read they do. anyway, that didn't work.
I continued with filing for religious exemption and it did work. Weekly covid tests, and if I go to home office have to show a negative test too.

I won't get the jab no matter what. I am leaving soon anyway, but at least it is when I want to leave.

There is no unemployment from what I've read for refusing employer-mandated vaccines, and there is no severance from what I've heard from reps at most companies if not all.

AND, NO. I'M NOT GETTING THE JAB SO DON'T COME BACK AND START CRAP.

I CARE ABOUT MY LONG TERM HEALTH AND YOU ALL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THESE COULD DO TO YOU.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

no severance either

Any business has the ability to make requirements on their employees. If you want to work for company X you must do ....,... It may not be popular in some cases, but within their rights. You have the same right to say I don't want to work for that business. The requirement may not be popular with some employees or customers, but still within their rights. If you feel that strongly don't work for the company, don't purchase products from the company, don't invest in the company (stocks).

I may not agree with Vaccine mandate but US is free market and employment at will model. Employees can leave (we are not bonded labor) at will. So if one doesn’t agree with the policy then leave but please don’t play victim card
