What I love about Cafepharma is how important it is to name names, as if this is going to influence management or bother the people whose names are mentioned or lead to change or even make you feel better. Before pissing on those folks, let's recall some facts.

Fact: The US CEO and Global CEO were the ones to decide to license back Fanapt. It's funny to imagine someone like Michael Braun signing the contract for $220M.

Fact: The US CEO decided to launch the drug 2 months after it was licensed.

Fact: Fanapt is the 8th atypical to come to market. It has a single indication and is a bid drug.

Fact: Fanapt has a big warning regarding orthostatic hypotension and QT and the label highlights that the drug did not look as good as risperidone.

Fact: Novartis management does not believe Fanapt is a blockbuster.

Fact: The depot formulation is not coming any day now.

Fact: Fanapt is not underpriced.

Fact: Fanapt has many dosage strengths and clinicians don't know how to use it.

...and you will get cut before the brand team gets cut. The sales force can only sustain itself based on productivity. Sorry, but that's how it is. When Brand team members lose their jobs, it's because they have screwed up (anyone can make a mistake)...and believe me, they do get let go when they have blown it.

Michael Braun is not the Brand Director. Michaell Tsai is the Brand Director. She is the marketing genius who deserves your accolades, not Braun. He takes direction from Tsai and Pilla. It's rather interesting that no one knows who the Brand Director is. Not the sign of a good Brand Director. Ludwig gave her the job. Add it to the list of Ludwig's bad decisions.

I always thought that the swiss were smart, but the fact that Lisa Pilla and Michael Braun are still here makes me wonder about the swiss. Lisa Pilla is a total screwup. Just look at the damage she did at Pfizer. Maybe they dumped here on us to kill our sales? Michael Braun is her stuttering lap dog with zero sales knowledge. It is no wonder why sales have nose dived.

Lisa Pilla has won the triple crown. She has single handedly destroyed Exelon Patch, Focalin XR, and Fanapt Sales. What's next for Lisa Pilla? Perhaps she can also take a shot at killing our Gilenya as well , or perhaps she will hold another one of her inspiring pep talks to blame our sales force for her terrible management skills. It seems that Lisa Pilla blames everone at Novartis except herself for what she has done. Merry Christmas

After all the damage that Lisa Pilla did at Pfizer I am shocked that we hired hire. She has destroyed the CNS division here along with her stupid side kick Michael Braun. Whoever hired this 2 morons should be fired.

Great Job on the Fanapt Launch. Why in the world are Lisa Pilla and Michael Braun still employed. They both took a good drug and killed our launch.

Lisa Pilla has killed Fanapt, Focalin XR, and Exelon Patch. Perhaps she and her puppet Michael Braun can now work on killing Gilenya. All good drugs destroyed by the team on Lisa Pilla and Michael Braun. Who hired these 2 jerks???
 






Very odd. I looked very deep into Novartis, Q4, annual results and could find no data on the Blockbuster results for Fanapt. Sales numbers for big sellers like Lescol, Trileptal, and Lotrel are noted but not Fanapt. Guess Fanapt numbers are lumped in with those "Other" huge productrs like Vivelle Dot, Fiorinal w Codeine, Lotensin, etc. Also no mention of the great decision to pay $200 million up front and effect on bottom line. Overall report seemed very ominous for US market unless one is in Oncology. Very little growth in US. In general positive results due to 1.Overseas sales 2. Alcon purchase 3. Cost cutting (jobs). The effect of Obama Care and price cuts mentioned several times as significant pressures in US market. What will Andy and Joe do to make 2011 and 2012 numbers?
