Is anyone else experiencing burnout?

This is the worst company I have ever worked for in my life. The lies, the lack of transparency, the constant moving goals the lack of direction is awful. They are not paying their reps, they tell you they will then they do not. The CSS team with the out of reach goals, just another way to not pay your reps. Oh and yes, please take my money my 2,000 and just hold that too, with no interest just because you want to, why not, no one will say anything because if you do you will be put on plan. Just be a robot, go see targets that aren't there, don't exist or won't drive business because we at Novartis know best.

The HAS team being told they will get paid, then the cover up starts, the "I don't know, I will get back to you, I am still finding out your IC plan" and AFTER you have poured your heart and soul into working the accounts, after you get things started, you ask ok what is that plan (four months later) "I will get back to you" then you talk to someone else who says, you aren't getting paid. Enough is enough. To be told, just do what is right, do it for the customers, well, you are a multi billion dollar company, how about paying YOUR customer, the reps. Most of your good reps will be gone the moment they can find something else.

The sad part is, this drug is great, the doctors and patients are great, but the morality, ethics and culture here are terrible. The way you treat reps, management, everyone is abhorrent and to turn a blind eye to what is going on is as good as committing the act yourself. Stand up for the reps who are working tirelessly instead of beating them up. Alisha telling the reps coming out of training "you need 16 scripts in the first month" how motivating...yes, caring about patients they do not. They don't care how you get there illegally or not. Just like Nike says ...Just do it. Put your morality and ethics aside.

The endless, excessive profit mentality of the company owners and senior management defines the company value system driving "acceptable" behaviors until they become "unacceptable".

Why would you "put your entire life into working at NOVARTIS?" That is so stupid!!!! Corporations do not care about people, they care about reporting good financial results to the street every quarter! So enjoy your life and your family while you can and live in the present, because no one at novartis will remember that you stayed late at work and produced reports or other shit in 20 years, but your kids will remember that mom and dad were never home making them dinner or attending their game or concert!!!!

Excellent comment. We tend to let life go by, forgetting to slow down and actually enjoy it. That is not to say anything against someone who wants to work towards a specific goal. The question we should all consider is: what are the real costs of pursuing that goal?

Any company that would keep Conrad M on board for this long clearly does not care about ethics, the sales force and doing what is right. This guy is an intimidator which is what he must do to everyone above him. He is one of the many cancers that exist in this disease of a company.

I learned a long time ago in pharma not to believe anyone. I gave every company 1 chance to screw me. The first time they screwed me, mostly bonus money, I was focused on getting my revenge. One company decided to change the bonus plan 1/2 way through the quarter. Cost me $12000. I took 28 weeks vacation that year (25 extra weeks). I just refused to work unless a manager was around. The next 3 years I took between 20-25 weeks vacation a year. Most working weeks were 10 hour work weeks spread out over 2 days. I think the $12000 not paid to me was a good investment on my part for a great 4 years of freedom. The next company changed the bonus and the manager knew it was wrong and she didn't assist in my complaint. I made sure I threw her under the bus ever chance I could and she was eventually terminated. There are ways to smile every day as you get you revenge and if you decide revenge is not your style you will constantly be upset and that is no way to live.

The experienced, tenured reps were retained due to a long history of positive performance and value and behaviors. Also, loyalty to Novartis through thick and thin. Unlike these job hoppers that come and go with the tides.
unfortunately there are no real "legacy" reps. Those were laid off over the last 10-15 years.

she was pushed out. Get a clue. Surprised it took this long. Watch the dominoes under her fall as well .3 months max. Mark my words. Sales directors, mgmrs and h.o. Staff.

There are actually highly motivated people who are intrinsically built to work. And fiercely loyal. And they give all they have to serve .
And they receive nothing in return because the slacker who spends time kissing behinds instead of working win
My guess is this is the intent of the OPs comment
I agree that the company doesn't care. And won't. And you should put your life and family first. But Novartis really sucks at rewarding people who've actually earned it
Yes they are. Not sure what's changed, but with all the shake ups Novartis has hired a bunch of sociopaths. My leader will make up shit and put it in a email. 2 people have left because of him in less than a year. One he bullied and made stuff up, and they new corporate would back management over them. It started all because they spoke up and dared to disagreed with him. It was clear to all of us he had it out for them.

You are so correct regarding V&B's. The mid year/ year end process has been rigged for years. This is why so many people get burned out and discouraged that put their entire life into working at Novartis but never get recognized because being a suck up is not their priority. Almost all the ABL's give their friends/ previous co-workers/ or the suck ups pet projects to document on the year end to make themselves look better, and these people usually could'nt give a damn about Novartis. This is one of the biggest problems at Novartis. Because it demotivates the rest of the team, and then sales suffer. If there's a top performer for years then all of the sudden their sales drop, look no further than the manager. ABL's are the reason for high turnover. This is no secret. Question, when will they change the process?
Listen up. Your CV ABL can limit your success. They can nominate numerous speakers in the pet territories and 0-1 in yours. They can direct the HAS to work other areas they deem important and not yours. It's a long road if you are not a ass kisser. So pucker up if you want to keep your job.

oh no Alisha! run for the hills, your leader of the club is gone and you may not be able to afford those pretty shoes with the red bottoms anymore. what should an entitled little bitch do in this situation?

That is how the gilenya team roles. CM directs his ABL's to do this type of stuff.

Well, this one is not compromising my conscious or integrity to stoop so low. I will keep my good character and whatever happens will happen.

This was brought up to Alisha, and she didn't want to hear it. Pretended it didn't exist. Nothing ever changes, it just stays the same corrupt business model.

This is absurd. So much process stuff. I swear if I see one more tracker I will scream. Incompetent managers or no managers because RD is a nightmare. Bad decision to come here.

I hope you're right. Investors really should investigate the cronyism that is so pronounced at Novartis. Non qualified people getting hired or promoted by friends, people only working towards something to put on their year ends instead of sales. People working their supervisors not actually effectively working to accomplish anything. If someone is constantly putting emails together copying everyone to make themselves appear they're actually doing something, then they are not. The have the "how do I justify for my existence/ position disease". Get rid of the disease and bring this company back.....please!
